TO OFFER COMMENTS ON THIS BLOG, YOU MUST NOW REGISTER WITH YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT!!

I have grown exceedingly wearied by the numerous anonymous and quite silly, often demeaning comments and one or more who use a variety of handles.

Users with Google Accounts can comment  registering and your name will be used in the comment section.

Hopefully this will end silly comments, insulting comments and comments under multiple handles.

I will see how this works. If it doesn't I will go to another plan.

Father,

Not that I disapprove of this move; how could I? This is your blog, Father, to state the obvious.

But this IS the www etc! Where still to a great extent anarchy rules...and I have an inkling that if any brother priest or, in fact, any fellow believer, feels himself to be on a mission ...well, what can be done?

I have read here some label the dreaded Fr K : a troll, a disrupter, a Democrat Party operative and so on...
This I believe is at least a tad uncharitable; my humble opinion is this:

Fr K et al serve a very useful purpose on this blog...
What I mean is that Fr K et al do or rather CAN at times
challenge people (more traditional, more conservative believers usually) to think or rethink their views and opinions etc, but more importantly, often people on this blog when challenging views put by Fr K et al can find themselves articulating their own beliefs and opinions in ways that can be both helpful and enlightening...

That is enough rambling nonsense from me for today.

Lucky Lady, evidently you can still use your handle and only one. This is new to me, but I like that those who comment must register to do so. It appears to be very easy.

Yes the name calling is uncharitable which is a mortal sin which I hope the mortal sinners are going to Confession about.

There is no need to attack each other and I have grown weary of reading comments that do. It is so sophomoric in addition to being a mortal sin.

Stick with the topic not the people who comment!

I will do my best, Father Allan.

But I wonder who St Anne CCD is?
And in my convert ignorance, is CCD a new religious order?

Makes sense: things were getting pretty silly.

Going by what happens on similar blogs, anonymous comments are not published but consistently used pseudonyms are acceptable.

William still William.

This is not a problem.

This is a good change.

One of the reasons I became dismissive of the "anonymous" pose is because there was no accountability.

Testing. Also praying (and urging others to pray for tomorrow's meeting of Bishop Parkes and our priests about the fate of the TLM in our diocese--hopefully, nothing will change).

I fear you only made this change because you did not like me asking whether your pen communicator was with AT&T or Verizon, using the handle “Illya Kuryakin” instead of the handle “Anonymous 2,” which I invariably use otherwise. I can only conclude the communicator must be with Sprint. -:)
