THESE DUAL POPE PHOTOS ARE STILL SURREAL TO ME, BUT POPE BENEDICT LOOKS HEALTHIER AND MORE VIBRANT THEN ON HIS LAST DAY OF BEING ACTIVE POPE!

Pope Benedict still looks dang good and quite papal!
Tonight went to the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery to visit on the eve of the of , and five other blessed. was created Cardinal by Paul VI in his last Consistory June 27, 1977.

Just in case the financial and sex scandals hadn't utterly destroyed this regime's credibility, they've decided to canonise Paul VI.
I guess the pope didn't read my letter. Quelle surprise.

Paul VI? Yet Pius XII remains just "venerable"? That should tell you all you need to know about the Regime of Institutionalized Novelty that has parked itself in the Vatican.

So what is Paul VI's miracle? I'll bet I can name it: The fact that the Church is still going after what he did to it.

Let's not forget our orthodoxy here. Any human being in heaven is a saint, declared or not. We have no reason to believe that Pope St. Paul VI was not in a state of grace at the moment of his death having received the Last Rites of the Church which I am sure included the apostolic pardon with its ensuing plenary indulgences.

A canonization of a world-known figure simply makes "visible" the hidden reality of what God has done in making perfect the human sinner, making him or her as perfect as the Heavenly Father is in heaven.

Father, I see your point, but using that line of reasoning, every person who consciously receives the Last Rites on their deathbead ought to be canonized.

I just thought the Church had a higher standard for actual canonizations.

In a sense everyone in heaven is canonized and their Feast Day is November first!
