Cardinal Pell never struck me as a traditionalist, and that really doesn't matter anyway. What he WAS was a man of incredible, straightforward common sense.
Of course, no matter how much encouragement WE might take from his sensible parting thoughts, the powers that be will simply ignore it. And 90 percent of the people in the pews don't care anyway.
The auto-destruction and managed decline continue. Goodbye Cardinal Pell. You are already missed.

All true - the Church is careening to near oblivion but the manage decline crowd simply do not care. Apres moi le deluge!
