The norm in the Latin Rite is Holy Communion on the tongue

We've all seen the Sacred Species land on the floor while we stand in line. Very, very disturbing to Catholics of a certain vintage. Kneeling at rail with the added precaution of a paten under the chin eliminates this worry. Why don't they get this?

When in Rome, I receive on tongue. Just a habit. In my local Roman diocese, there are many who receive on the tongue, many who kneel/receive on the tongue, many women who wear the mantilla and no one seems the least bit bothered by what's mostly just mundane. I did try the spontaneous kneeling once as mostly everyone ahead of me in line was doing it. Two shot knees and nothing to grab onto to stand back up, I almost took out a priest who was standing slightly to the side I guess waiting to be helpful. He took the partial body-blow well and was gracious about the whole thing.

I went to the vigil Mass this evening. One group solidly received in the hand: The greyhairs.

I don't even fit in with people in my own age group.
