GOODNESS GRACIOUS! DID THE HOLY SEE AND CARDINAL CUPICH NEED TO MAKE TRADITIONALISTS THE GRAVEST THREAT TO ECCLESIASTICAL HARMONY IN THE CHURCH?

And yet, the National Catholic Reporter and the Jesuit priest who works there as well as the pastor of Saint Sabina in Chicago are completely ignored and allowed their work of division. You can’t make this stuff up!

Push the title from the Pillar for its excellent coverage.

Updated: Parish responses to Chicago liturgy regs face different directions

News: 'Traditionis custodes'

Oh my, Are the Church Universal and the Archdiocese of Chicago going out of its way to make more nones? Is that considered success in today’s progressive ecclesiastical circles?

And the Church in Chicago continues to shrink because it is run by leftwingers who have little respect for differing points of views, including sacred traditions of almost 2,000 years. Young priests should steer clear of Chicago. There are many tradition friendly dioceses where they will be welcome. Cupich and PF obviously fear the EF and its vocation generating powers. They know their day is almost done and their little late life tantrum will not end well for them. TC is repugnant to the Catholic Faith and should be ignored. I think Catholics of good will would take it seriously if Cupich and PF aggressively went after the myriad of liturgical abuses like those that occur at places like St. Sabina’s and did not crush priests who opt to follow legitimate and inveterate practices like celebrating Mass ad orientem. The hypocrisy is overwhelming. Even my liberal Catholic friends are mystified by these recent moves

Adding to the conspiracy theories (lab virus) being bandied about, here's another:

All this makes one wonder what's really driving these repressive actions against so few relative to the whole. What really triggered this? I cannot believe the stated and desired for "unity" is the sole motivating factor. All this "unity" hasn't been had since 1969 and everyone seemed to be okay with it!

I guess the upset, churn, burn and the likely exit of a small few are worth it relative to whatever the real agenda item(s) is/are.

These few though, the Trads, unlike some groups within the church, photograph well almost like something made for tv/movies as it gives the world something to look at, are a target. And targeted they have been. Boat had to have been rocked somewhere....or, last gasp effort to put forth a failing ideology and accompanying theology.

Father McDonald,

Here is a statement I think you would agree with:

"Bishop Thomas Tobin
@ThomasJTobin1
In this Week of Prayer for #ChristianUnity, let's also work to safeguard and promote "Catholic Unity." In particular, let's resolve to respect and support members of our own Church who are devoted to TLM. They are faithful Catholics who greatly love the Lord and his Church."

Cupich and his ilk should be ashamed of themselves.
