A LOW PRIVATE MASS IN A RUSTIC SETTING FOR THE SOLEMNITY OF THE EPIPHANY…

Last Saturday and Sunday, Our parochial vicar took off and it is my turn this weekend (Epiphany weekend). When away I normally attend or celebrate Mass at a local parish. But today I celebrated privately, which I usually do not prefer, but did so because it is convenient and, well, I can. This Mass for the Epiphany was for the intentions of my parishioners, called in Latin, “pro populo.” The chasuble I am wearing is the one that was put on me at my priestly ordination on June 7, 1980.

Father McDonald,

That chasuble bears a great deal of resemblance to the tunic worn by the old Knights Templar. The chasuble appears to be in great shape after all these years

There is something about this that makes me happy.
