THANK GOODNESS FOR THE HERMENEUTIC OF CONTINUITY WHEN IT COMES TO PRESIDENTIAL BLUSTER

100,000,000 jabbing shots in the first 100 days! —President Joe Biden

No one in the history of the world has ever seen anything like this! —President Donald Trump

Try again.

Biden's goal is 100,000,000 jabs, not 1,000,000.

Thanks for the correction. That’s even more powerful bluster than anything from P. Trump. Maybe I am wrong, but this Thursday will see 1,000,000 shots jabs and the same for the next 99 days including Sundays and holidays! Wow! Let make sure Trump didn’t say that!

KH said...

There will never again be a president who blusters like Trump. No human being exists who thinks more of him or herself than Trump does.

Among the things that Trump didn't say was a single word regarding Putin's arrest and detention of Alexei Navalny, the opposition leader Putin poisoned, who, upon returning to Russia, was jailed on bogus charges.

No, we can't have a WORD or a BLUSTER about the evils of Putin.

Wow.

27.5 hours left. HAGAN LIO!

Biden's policies will cost the average person jobs and security. And there will be wars again. He's already working on driving up the cost of gas but Barbra Streisand will be happy living safely in her walled enclave

Fr. Allan J. McDonald said...

Kh, what did Biden say? More hermeneutics of continuity.

As for Trump speaking out as to anything since the riot at the capitol, he is on the way out, and folk would be saying he was going to get us all killed (again...sigh) if he spoke out against the arrest of a Putin rival, and that is a fact.

There are two types of liars, those being politicians and then all the rest of the liars.

There are two types of stupid, rabid Republicans believing they are saviors, and then there are rabid Democrats believing they are saviors.

Having lived through now 10 presidencies, I can tell you exactly what will change radically, and that is "not much".

Here's an example of the start of Biden's first of many, job killing and friend killing initiatives:

And after spending $1.5 billion to develop the pipeline, which runs through Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota and Nebraska, according to the Canadian CBC map linked here, Canadians are threatening lawsuits.

CBC reports:

On Sunday, [Alberta Premier Jason] Kenney said in a statement posted to social media that he's deeply concerned that Biden may repeal the pipeline's presidential permit.

"Doing so would kill jobs on both sides of the border, weaken the critically important Canada-U.S. relationship and undermine U.S. national security by making the United States more dependent on OPEC oil imports in the future," Kenney said.

Kenney said should the U.S. repeal the permit, "Alberta will work with TC Energy to use all legal avenues available to protect its interest in the project."

LOL at Father K and his ilk - hey - where is the "social justice" in killing jobs?

As for ANYbody bragging over delivery speed of the vaccine development, the speed was purely due to the modified RNA technique used.

Which technique was tried for more standard medicines and diseases but it killed people, and so the company switched to the far less profitable vaccine market since vaccines are taken in such small doses and so infrequently that risks were seen as acceptable.

Cool, huh?

If you call that bluster, Biden is blustering about helping people, saving lives, getting things done. Maybe he gets to 100,000,000, maybe not. Like going to the moon, it's important that we strive to accomplish something grand.

Trump, on the other hand, blusters almost entirely about himself.

"I'm a very stable genius."
"Throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart,"
“The beauty of me is that I’m very rich.”
“I think I am actually humble. I think I’m much more humble than you would understand.”
“I think Viagra is wonderful if you need it…. I’ve just never needed it. Frankly, I wouldn’t mind if there were an anti-Viagra, something with the opposite effect. I’m not bragging. I’m just lucky. I don’t need it.
“My fingers are long and beautiful, as, it has been well documented, are various other parts of my body.”

Hopefully, you see and understand see the difference.

As if "William" tells more than "anonymous". "Anonymous" tells folk that the poster is not dishonest enough to use a fake name, or using only first name which may or may not be fake and is no more informative than anonymous.

I, for one, am very grateful for Trump's egotistical bluster. Since I am older than 12, it really doesn't matter to me how much he thinks of himself, because that's his personal problem. I am far more concerned about so many Americans with the "He thinks he's better than us/She thinks she's better than us/We'll show him/her" mentality. Only a president with that excessive an ego could have possibly dared to stand up to the corruption in both parties.

To be fair, Biden has a bit of it too--anyone running for president does. His hilarious remark about "taking Trump behind the gym to beat him up" brings up a troubling image: Trump gasping for breath with his girth shaking about while Biden has a stroke. Not pretty.

KH said...

Trump stood up to corruption, did he?

He INVITED corruption into the White House.

Bannon, Manafort, Cohen, Papadopolous, Pionedo, van der Zwann, Gates, Stone, Flynn...

And Trump himself has been impeached TWICE.

No, he has NOT stood up to corruption. He is the embodiment thereof.

My state has disbursed a total of about 250,000 doses including boosters and the new Prez better get cracking if he expects to do 1,000,000 per day. I would expect those giving the shots are saying huh?what? maybe with conscription.

Anonymous said...

KH, most of those folk listed, along with the utterly bogus impeachments were not the result of corruption but of Democratic party prosecutions based on false charges that they themselves generated and pushed through near every level of government in a true and proved conspiracy as demonstrated by released classified documents which they tried to bury.

That Obama, Clinton, and heads of intelligence communities are not in prison this very instant shows only how vast THEIR corrupt network.

But, you run along to Lala Land and just ignore this.

Remember folks, love the sinner, hate the sin. As His Holiness Pope Francis says, the Church is a field hospital and we must accompany sinners and make a way for them to receive Holy Communion because our Lord is Medicine for the sick, not a Prize for the virtuous. President Trump and soon to be President Biden need our love, concern, support and we accompany them with the Medicine of Christ.

Anonymous said...

So the "Biden is as bad as Trump" gaslighting has begun. Any honest grownup knows the difference between Biden;s Irish-grandpa BS and Trump's malignant narcissism. Biden is a human with many flaws, but a decent human, not a monster like his predecessor.

Jack D. Ripper said...

How did four years of love, concern, support and the Medicine of Christ work out with Trump anyway? I don't remember a lot of love, concern and support in these parts for President Obama. What was the difference, anyway? There has to be some difference between the two men to explain that. I'm sure it will come to me eventually.

Fr. Allan J. McDonald said...

Oh my Jack the killer and A@4:20, we love the sinner and hate the sin, we accompany the sinner and build them up, not tear them down. We look for the good and emphasize that. Maybe you are political operatives with no religious affiliation or don't know about the Catholic Church. Turn your hearts to God and He will fill them with love for Trump and Biden and help you to look beyond what you see and know that God is there.

Jack D. Ripper said...

Right-wing conservatives somehow came up with the mantra that we must show love, support and concern for Trump because he's president, and ipso facto, God chose him to be president. This is the rankest hypocrisy. Where was that logic from 2009-2017 when conservatives tweeted pictures of Barack and Michelle as gorillas? Obviously, God works in mysterious ways.

J.J. said...

When I read all the puerile vitriol aimed at Trump, all I can think is: He must have struck a nerve.

I like your new banner, but I don't know how anyone can make Limoncello out of this one!

KH said...

Anon 3:22 - Riiiiiight. Thousands are in on a "vast conspiracy" to convict Trump insiders and YOU ALONE can see the real picture.

Talk about living in La-La Land......

Anonymous said...

Father, sorry to see you blog post basically illustrating politicians of either main party will say anything for approval/votes/press being invaded again by folks with fake names touting how virtuous their candidate and how evil the other.

Totally missing your point and then attacking you....again...and again....and again....and again.

Moe Biden said...

Hey Jack--I'll tell you the difference. It's real simple.

TRUMP SUPPORTED RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.

TRUMP PUT HIS REPUTATION ON THE LINE TO TRY TO PROTECT UNBORN CHILDREN AND FIGHT PLANNED PARENTHOOD.

(Oops! Sorry, I forgot--when Democrats and Republicans say "fight" it means pay lip service to a cause, but when Trump supporters say "fight" it means "INSURRECTION"--how could I forget?)

Anyway, that's it Jack. So simple a Kindergartner can get it!

Jack D. Ripper said...

Sure, Moe. I’m a Catholic and I had religious freedom while Presidents Clinton and Bush and Obama We’re in office, and I had religious Cm freedom for the past four years and we’ll all have religious freedom under President Biden, thank God.
Would you like some lemons with that MAGA Kool-Aid?

Anonymous said...

And exactly how many of the unborn did Trump protect?

Beijing Joe said...

Riiiiiight. A feeble buffoon who can't even finish a coherent sentence legitimately won the election by staying in his basement and he actually got more votes than Obama too and it's just a coincidence that the incoming regime will not tolerate any questioning of what happened--yeah! Just a coincidence!

I think as impassioned as this last election was, it is hard to not want to defend one's position. However you are right, this is not what this blog should be and I think we all--myself included--need to stop it and in cases like this, agree to disagree...politely.

There are plenty of other grave issues we are about to face that will be far more urgent than our current disagreement. What we've done so far hasn't served either side very well.

We should all hunger and thirst for righteousness and justice--but not to the point where we risk damning ourselves with our passions.

KH at 0836, “No human being exists that thinks more of himself than Trump does”. - Unless he died this morning, I can thiink of someone else who thinks more of himself - former President Barack Obama. He’s not even 60 and he’s “written “ three Barack Obama autobiographies.

Bluto at 1110 - By the content of your post, I can understand why your academic prowess at Faber College was dismal. Where has Joe Biden’s bluster been for the past 47 years? Certainly not helping people or saving lives, since he. Is a fervent supporter of unrestricted abortion and sodomy (homosexual “marriage”). At least 60 million abortions in the US since 1973. Unfortunately, he is at best a Catholic in name only for he supports these non-negotiable sins.

LIKE I SAID...we need to stop it.

Trump supporter or Trump hater--all of this "gotcha" stuff isn't going to persuade anyone.

I can see both sides of this, especially the question of religious freedom.

In the case of Trump, the biggest threat to religious freedom came as the COVID crisis morphed into a medical dictatorship in so many states. Trump was quite vocal in his support for religious freedom, especially when some provinces actually gave more rights to strip clubs and porn providers than to churches.

On the other hand, Obama could also be called a defender of religious freedom. Elite academia's disdain for America's history and the need to vilify all of white America as racist IS (no, I am not joking) a type of religion. And Obama, his wife and many others in his circle were strong defenders of that religion.

And that seems to leave us where we are now: For one part of the country, Christianity, Judaism and a few other "churches" fall under the tent of "religion". For the rest, secularized government is their religion. And again, I am not joking. The devotion that some of the secularists have to their cause and their determination to erase and punish all dissent IS nothing short of religious and those of us who call ourselves Christian should be ashamed of our lukewarmness by comparison.

Thank you for your above contribution.

Someday in our lifetime, conservatives may get over their hatred for President Obama over things that they imagined he said and did. Where are the death panels?

Anonymous said...

Anon 3:20 - No, the REALLY great sins committed by Obama were 1) putting his feet on the desk in the Oval Office and 2) wearing a ta suit.

(Of course, the fact that there are pix of Reagan in tan and several other of Obama's predecessors with their feet on the desk to not absolve the black man...)

I am probably more conservative and "intolerant" than the average person who posts here and I can honestly say I do not hate Obama and I know very few people who do. In many ways, he is amusing I tend to look upon him more as a tool of bigger interests who served their purposes when it was his assigned time to do so. He's going to live a nice, respectable life as an ex-president and I wish him well. I just don't have much of a high regard for his legacy--but then again, I don't regard George W.'s or Bill Clinton's or George H.W.'s legacies as much to crow about either. The entire political establishment stinks from the ground up and the smell is only getting stronger.
