My pro-life homily begins at 14:15:
Nice chasuble. Those who are more left-leaning tend to have knee-jerk reactions to issues like abortion and capital punishment perhaps not considering the inconsistency of pro-choice/against capital punishment type views. Why is abortion so passionately lobbied for/protected (given how barbaric it is), while those same people decry how barbaric capital punishment is? While I'm very sympathetic to those who are victims of rape/incest (hopefully, they receive justice), I struggle to get past how those wrongs are rectified by an execution and then, one not effected as neatly as capital punishment (at least here in the U.S.). Anyhow, a very good point Fr. AJM that, to me, is mostly not discussed.
Abortion is championed because it brings in votes. People generally support the sexual exploitation of women and need abortion to head off the natural result.
Deo gratias for our holy, and great, Culture of Life Roman Pontiff, Pope Francis.https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/pope-francis-grants-plenary-indulgence-for-participants-in-virtual-march-for-life-- Pope Francis grants plenary indulgence for participants in virtual March For LifeCNA Staff, Jan 28, 2021 / 09:47 am MT (CNA).- Pope Francis has granted a plenary indulgence for those who take part in this year’s March for Life, an annual peaceful protest against abortion, which is set to take place virtually Jan. 29. Cardinal Mauro Piacenza, the Vatican’s Major Penitentiary, announced this year’s indulgence Jan. 13, before the announcement that the march would be virtual. In past years, those unable to attend the march in person such as “the aged, sick and all those who due to grave reason are not able to leave home” have also been able to receive the plenary indulgence, so long as they “spiritually join themselves to the holy ceremonies, while also having offered prayers and their sufferings or the ailments of their own life to the merciful God.”Pax.Mark Thomas
The following is mind-boggling to consider:"Pope Francis has granted a plenary indulgence for those who take part in this year’s March for Life, an annual peaceful protest against abortion, which is set to take place virtually Jan. 29."However, President Biden, who assists at Sunday Mass regularly, rejected the opportunity to have obtained said Indulgence. Imagine being Catholic, but having rejected Pope Francis' support of, as well as the Indulgence related to, the annual March for Life.Imagine being Catholic, but having preferred this past Friday to have stood with Satan, and the Culture of Death, rather than with Pope Francis, as well as the Culture of Life's Annual March for Life. Mark Thomas: You have proven the point that our “devout” Catholic President is really not that devout. Just because one carries a rosary in their pocket, goes to Mass regularly with the media, gets ashes on Ash Wednesday, or makes the sign of the cross at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, it doesn’t mean that they are a faithful, devout Catholic. What the country and the world need now are servant leaders who are God fearing and serve and protect all people.
