FROM DOWN UNDER

This is must read. The National Chismatic Reporter  (NCR) shows its heterodox colors and in the process also shows the demonic side of heterodoxy that will stop at nothing to recover its 1970's ideology for the Church. These people are in schism except they aren't honest enough to make it official. These people are seeking revenge for the John Paul II and Benedict years. And fueling their vengeance is the use of much of the theology and rhetoric of Pope Francis.

If you want to know what the "smoke of Satan" looks like and smells like, think sulfur, read this article by a heterodox, angry Australian:

Australian Cardinal George Pell, prefect of the Vatican Secretariat for the Economy, arrives for the closing Mass of the Synod of Bishops on the family in St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican in this Oct. 25, 2015, file photo. An Australian court found Cardinal Pell guilty on five charges related to the sexual abuse of two 13-year-old boys; the verdict, reached in December, was announced Feb. 26, 2019. Sentencing is expected in early March, but the cardinal's lawyer already has announced plans to appeal the conviction. (CNS photo/Paul Haring)

I guess one could say the demonic sheep hear THEIR shepherd.

The author seems to carry a political grudge and builds a case for sexual abuse based on the Canonical views of Cardinal Pell. Unfortunately, everything I have found, excepting the video interview of Pell by the police, seems to be written by a person in the throws of hysteria. If Pell is guilty then it should be because he actually did molest those boys. Finding other complainants is a step in that direction but complaining about his doctrinal positions is at best the actions of an opportunist.

Here's an interesting take on the Synod and the Pell matter:

Bee here:

After I read the article about Cardinal Pell by Paul Collins, I got to thinking...

What good is a religion that, in order to be "pastoral" allows anything and permits any behavior? What need is being met by that kind of religion; a sense of permission to act in any way you want? Validation? A way to convince yourself or have others convince you that any guilt or shame that might arise in you out of immoral behavior is needless? Reassurance that there are no consequences for immorality?

First it was denial of God. The scientific forces that emerged out of the "Enlightenment" decided there was no God. That was a fact. Only the unintelligent believed in God.

Now I guess, for all of those who have not bought into that ideology, it's that if there is a God, He's really nice, and so understanding, He'd never be mad at you no matter what you did. It's all good. And it's only a small segment of rigid, angry, hateful people that are enforcing standards God does not uphold and thereby making other people suffer. And they must be stopped. Because they're evil, and not like God at all.

I guess.

God bless.

Right Bee, and it's coming from the "religious" authorities. It is getting to the point that there seems no place for the "old fashioned" "rigid" Catholics that think like those did in the "olden days" of a COUPLE of years ago.

Dan (at March 6, 2019 4:17 am): There's a video floating around (I'm sure most of you have seen it) of former Cardinal McCarrick in 2013, shortly after Pope Francis was elected, saying that the new Pope is not a theologian but is a "pastor". And before the election a "very influential" lay person, (whom he did not name), came to him and asked what he thought the chances of Bergolino being elected Pope were. Then the un-named man said, "He could do it you know." And McCarrick said, "What could he do?" (feigning ignorance, I think) "He could reform the Church. Give him 5 years...he could make the Church over again...." Then he told McCarrick, "Talk him up."

So we're in year 6. And as you note, what we thought or believed a "couple" of years ago is a part of the olden days. There's a new sheriff in town, and he's got an agenda.

It's just creepy. Very creepy.

God bless.
