I AM NOT A POLITICIAN BUT I PLAY THE PART OF A CATHOLIC PRIEST BLOGGER ON THE WORLDWIDE WEB, THUS BEING APOLITICAL AS I SURELY AM, WHAT ARE THE MORALS AND ETHICS OF THE JUSSIE SMALLETT WHITEWASH OR BLACKWASH DEPENDING ON YOUR SCRUPPLES

What does the Catholic Church have to teach the corrupt democratic machine in Chicago that allowed a rich, spoiled, narcissistic celebrity get away with murder, I mean a colossal hoax?  Is this a case of clericalism, i.e. privilege accorded to the rich and famous but not accorded to the poor and infamous?

And is it LGBTQIA (as I heard spelled out by Jussie’s lawyer) clericalism similar to what has been happening in the Church for the past 50 years?

I have no idea what the i and a represent, do you????????

We've answered this one previously.

Also becoming more prevalent is LGBTQIA, the "I" stands for "intersex" and the "A" for "asexual" and/or "allied."

There use to be a radio station in Augusta with the call letters WBIA. I wonder if they were underground LGBTQIA subversives but short on letters?

The whole thing was pretty funny since no one actually got hurt. He really should get a stiff fine and some community service, though, since it was one step short of SWATting someone.

Let's face it he is a spoiled brat which our current culture produces. There is no such thing as objective truth, rather it is my truth, my sex, my this, my that and my the other. So in his little malformed, disorder mind, his truth is the truth.

I would have been satisfied if the only thing he had to do was to accept responsibility, tell the objective truth and move on. That didn't happen at allllll.

You forgot to capitalize "democrat." A proper noun.

People are leaving Illinois in droves (ditto for other corrupt, high tax states like Connecticut, New Jersey and New York). Weather doubtless is a factor---who among us wants to live in a place like Chicago where the temp can drop to 20 or 25 below zero?---but states like Florida and Texas attract lots of newcomers with no state income tax and a bureaucracy which is not as inflated as the northern ones. Plus, you are more likely to practice your faith without interference from government. Florida is now our third most populous state (Texas is second). Not like we see people leaving the South to move North in droves!!!!

rcg,

This response is not like you. Plenty of folks were hurt, most importantly Americans who support President Trump who were maliciously tarred AND the people of Chicago who were left with a huge bill. This guy is the beneficiary of black, gay, and democratic privilege.

As the facts come out, this has the corrupt Obamas' fingerprints all over it. And the facts will show obstruction of justice, but in the national media there will be crickets. However, the left-wing mayor of Chicago, who worked in the Obama White House, the African-American police, and the Police Union are livid and there will be an investigation. I believe the Union president has already contacted the feds and offered his cooperation. The media in many instances failed to tell its viewers that federal mail fraud charges still loom.

Sadly, Chicago is likely to begin circling the drain because two left-wing loonies are running for mayor. I have friends who have put their homes up for sale in response to these candidates (ironically, my friends who are doing this are Dems but not totally insane) because they know they need to get out, pronto.

The BIG issue is the fact that this actor would have used his acting skills to lie and cry on the witness stand and send two innocent white guys to prison had the police found anyone.

He really should face punishment. Especially since this may motivate other fake hate crimes.

Here is an example of another left-wing corrupt organization under fire, an organization which is cited by liberals as WONDERFUL and the GOLD STANDARD:

https://dailycaller.com/2019/03/25/splc-president-settlement/

And then one of our inveterate posters cited "Snopes" as an accurate "fact-checker." Well maybe they are not so accurate after all, and just another organization that shills for the left:

Here's another thing the Dems who LOVE their new favorite minority, the Muslims should consider before falling off the cliff:

This might offend their other favorite minority, the gays

In terms of Smollett, here's a little tid-bit:

Christina M. "Tina" Tchen, Michelle Obama´s Chief of Staff, President Obama´s Assistant, and friend of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel´s wife, had intervening communications with State’s Attorney Kim Foxx about this case before the decision to drop charges was made.

Sounds like obstruction of justice to me, interfering in a criminal investigation.

TJM, I am sorry to disappoint. My comments are directed toward the mental image of the actor wearing his faux noose home in hopes it made his story more believable (and matched his shooes). It has all collapsed, with confessions! And is now dismissed in a bald-faced act of corruption by the very people who have claimed moral authority on a national level. The most dangerous thing they could do now is admit that they are liars and plea for mercy. Insread, they are distinguishing themselves in a way that the slanders that you list explode in their face on launch.

There is a line of reasoning that has hold in the American political system that says that people like Smollet deserve a pass in reparations for the harm done to any particular group he can claim membership to. So rather than appeal to a nobler vision of man they cloy the bigotries of, in this case, race, sex, and politics in hopes that people will forgive Smollett for being the most pathetic and therefore excusable example of those things. Who can resist laughing at such self-parody?

Bee here:

If this guy had pulled this hoax but it never went national, or never even got picked up by local news, and he only got the sympathy of his family and friends, and then upon investigation the police found out it was a hoax, he probably wouldn't have had 16 felony counts against him, but he probably would have gotten charged, convicted, and sentenced to probation and maybe some hundreds of hours of community service. And that would have been the end of that.

So the problem is not what happened, but that he became a symbol, and once again, we were baited by the media to pay attention to something that at it's heart is inconsequential. Whatever the outcome, the media used the story from start to finish to create division and hostility between people in order o further a political agenda. Now everyone has a strong opinion, and may feel outrage, on both sides!

We gotta stop falling for this socialist technique the media uses to create a dialectic, presenting things in such a way as to create outrage and encouraging us to take a side. Then we argue and insult each other on social media over those opinions. And no one wins except the socialists who are employing a strategy of divide and conquer.

Jussie Smollett is of no consequence whatsoever. Nathan Phillips is of no consequence whatsoever. And the next Leftist loon who will step onto the stage with his/her victim story is of no consequence either.

Turn off the media. If you can't turn it off, turn it down. Way down. What they are doing is manipulating us in order to destroy our country. Don't let them.

God bless.

I note our resident liberals are sitting this one out

Oh, what to do? The Georgia House has pending a pro-life bill that is opposed by both the left/far left and far right. The left does not like any restrictions on abortion, of course, while in this case the far right does not like the bill because there are exceptions for rape, incest and "medically futile" pregnancies. In this case, is it better to get half a loaf---or somewhat more than that---or none at all? The exceptions were included to give the bill some chance of passing---it only narrowly cleared the House while the Senate passed it more easily but with changes, thus another vote needed in the House. There is no chance a bill would pass here without some exceptions. Comments?

"socialist technique"

What bunk.

Divide and Conquer (urging people to take sides, then exploit the divisions) is hardly limited to "socialists," whatever you think that term means.

The current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue has been masterful in hoodwinking a sufficient number of voters with his taunts of "fake news," "enemies of the people,", "treasonous," etc., in his successful attempt to drive the political polarization in this country.

"Lock her up" and "Build the wall" and "MAGA" are his successful tools for conjuring his ever-shrinking base. They are precisely the tools you suggest "socialists" employ.

"If this guy had pulled this hoax but it never went national, or never even got picked up by local news..."

No doubt. The problem is, it did go national and got picked up by the news media, both local an national.

"So the problem is not what happened... "

The problem, given our society and the media today, is precisely what happened. Nothing happens in a vacuum.

"Now everyone has a strong opinion, and may feel outrage, on both sides!"

I think those who oppose the use of race to exploit and divide have a more legitimate reason to be outraged. Not that it solves anything

"Then we argue and insult each other on social media over those opinions."

The above is certainly one of the worse fruits of the internet and social media.

"Jussie Smollett is of no consequence whatsoever. Nathan Phillips is of no consequence whatsoever."

In a normal, properly functioning society with a responsible media this would be true.

"Turn off the media. If you can't turn it off, turn it down. Way down."

Good advice. Especially when it comes to the fair city of Chicago. It seems like whenever there is something in the news about that place it is about something which does not reflect all that well on the residents therein. It once was that political and social dysfunction was more a characteristic of the South. Welcome to our once was and thanks for making us look not as bad.
