True, the music is interesting and nice despite being unfamiliar to my ear as an accompaniment to liturgy. That aside, there's a sterility to HH's liturgies that, to me, makes them feel almost tedious.
Whether it's a Latin ordinary or (as here) faux-folk with guitars, the congregation don't sing anyway; I've noticed that the cameraman is reluctant to dwell on the 'l'assemblea' when they are supposed to be singing.
This being so, it's a pity they couldn't use some of the fine liturgical music written by Renaissance composers living and working in Mexico. There's life (and art) beyond mariachi. Missed the sombreros, though.
PF's Masses are tedious because they are simply mumbled low Masses with musical accompaniment.
