HILTON HEAD/BEAUFORT COUNTY NEWSPAPER AD GONE WILD!

This newspaper ad appeared this Saturday morning in the South Carolina Island Packet that serves Beaufort and Jasper Counties where there are at least six Catholic parishes many which cater to tourists. Will this ad help tourists or disappoint them when they arrive at their nearest Catholic Church? Is this ad a waste of money? Should the newspaper refund the cost to the parish which purchased it?

So what’s wrong with this ad???????

UPDATED WITH ACTUAL PHOTO OF AD IN THE NEWSPAPER:

The ad is ridiculous and is just another indication that theology and worship are becoming more and more secularized and politicized. The Catholic Church leads the way in this trend.

Newspapers often charge by the word or by the type space, and I don't see Gene opening up his wallet.

To post "The Octave Day of Christmas" or "The Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God" could be rather expensive.

That being said, the add is more than a tad confusing.

I have updated the post with a picture of the actual ad which I could not copy and paste with my iPad but can post with my PC which i am now using.

Thus, I think both comments are missing the tree because of the forest. Look again!

My 8:41 post appeared before the ad appeared in full.

The full ad is a bit less confusing, but where's the name/address of the church?

Which is the ad. I was responding to the ridiculous picture of the illegal aliens as the Holy Family which, again, is blasphemy and absurdity.

That's the main issue, there is no name or place for the Church and given the fact that this paper serves an area where there are about 6 Catholic Churches, that's a major problem especially for tourists who might think the Mass times are for the church closest to them.

It could be the parish's fault for not giving enough information to the ad department at the paper, but the ad department, one would think, should have pickup on this and let the parish know before it went to print, although I am sure they sent the parish a proof to approve before publication.

Of course,if the masthead pic were of a haloed, armed white family defending their home and property from marauding illegals and "urban thugs," Gene would be all in...

Meanwhile, with the government shutdown Nancy Pelosi is in Hawaii at a $900 a night resort and Maxine Waters is beaching it in the Bahamas. Since they LOVE the illegal aliens so much, I thought surely they would be manning (womaning) a soup kitchen at the border.

Anonymous Kavanaugh, what's wrong with depicting reality? I read where a cop was just killed by another Democratic Voter (illegal alien). Hopefully you will not be a victim of your own virtue-signalling!

LOL! Good catch, Father. I see this sort of ‘time, place, date’ omission frequently. In fact, today I am dealing with a requirement to accomplish traing we are supposed to “look up on the website”. Grrr. We are able to insert url directly into messages but are so self-centered that we assume everyone is already thinking the same things we are.
