REFORM OF THE REFORM LITURGICAL BOMBSHELL: "WITH BLESSED JOSEPH, HER SPOUSE" ADDED TO EUCHARISTIC PRAYERS II, III, AND IV!
The prefect for the Congregation for Divine Worship has kicked the "reform of the reform" of the liturgy up a notch by decreeing that Blessed Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, be now inserted into the Second, Third and Fourth Eucharistic Prayers. He had been inserted into the Roman Canon in 1962.
This is truly wonderful "reform of the reform" of the Liturgy news under the pontificate of the Bishop of Rome, our Holy Father, Francis. Thank you!
This is how it will be prayed:
Eucharistic Prayer II:
that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
with Blessed Joseph, her Spouse,
with the blessed Apostles
Eucharistic Prayer III:
with the most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
with blessed Joseph, her Spouse,
with your blessed Apostles and glorious Martyrs
Eucharistic Prayer IV:
with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God
with blessed Joseph, her Spouse,
and with your Apostles
Here is the actual decree from the Congregation of Divine Worship:

A (first?) bit of actual continuity--initiated by John XXIII, approved by Benedict, and promulgated by Francis.
Good! I love Saint Joseph. Probably my favorite.
Wow, tackling the really BIG issues aren't they?
And to think it only took a month and a half to get it off a desk.
Why wasn't this done in 1969? I mean they made such a big deal of it in 1962.
Psshhhhtt.
Isn't this a novel and unprecedented CHANGE in the ancient and venerable texts of the Eucharistic Prayers that MUST be rejected, denounced, and condemned by "T"raditional Catholic around the world?
