SPEAKING OF FAUX BURGER KINGS, IS THIS A WHOPPER OF A SACRILEGE?

This also begs the question, is this Catholic art or Catholic kitsch?

“Effulgence of the Burger King” by Andre Bertolino, from a recent exhibit by Sulfur Studios

Looks like Elvis, too. Just a lot of silly nonsense. I wouldn't get too worked up about it.

Kitsch? I think so. I don't think its Catholic kitsch. That is Elvis and the BK Whopper. I do think it hints at Catholic parody. A quick search of the artist on Amazon shows that the artist also authored The Gluten Free Vegan Cookbook. I suspect the artist will be consuming the Impossible Burger for reasons of Climate Change more that for religious observance. I don't think calling it sacrilegious is unfounded. Its a cheap shot at a well known religious image

This link describes similar artwork, except in Poland. It got a much different reaction.
