THIS IS JESUIT BUILT AND FOR A TAMPA'S JESUIT ALL BOYS HIGH SCHOOL AND ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS WOW! WOW! WOW!

Prior to Vatican II, Jesuits were known for building magnificent and ornate churches throughout the world and in this country.

In the south, they built four magnificent churches, two in our diocese, (Sacred Heart in Augusta, now closed and St. Joseph Church in Macon).

In Tampa, they built Sacred Heart downtown that is clearly related in style to the two in our diocese.

It appears that the Jesuit leaders at Tampa's all boys Jesuit High are trying with all their might to continue this wonderful Jesuit tradition.

KEEP IN MIND--THIS IS A CHAPEL FOR HIGH SCHOOL KIDS!!!!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE! AND IT APPEARS TO BE BUILT WITH THE FUTURE IN MIND, AN ALTAR THAT CAN BE USED AD ORIENTEM OR FACING THE CONGREGATION AND AN ALTAR RAILING! UNBELIEVABLE!

I PRESENT TO YOU THE JESUIT CHAPEL OF THE HOLY CROSS!

Very clearly not the work of anyone in the chancery at the Diocese of Savannah. They still think it's 1972.

Stunning. A true, properly ordered monument to the faith. A landmark for that community. Nobly simple yet, so rich looking. Well done Duncan Stroik!

In other news, here is the new look for a parish in Canada. They added a bit of color to the outside.

"Non vos me elegistis sed ego elegi vos et posui vos ut eatis et fructum adferatis et fructus vester maneat ut quodcumque petieritis Patrem in nomine meo det vobis."

Come on Father. Is this another one of your jokes. That beautiful chapel couldn’t have been built by modern Jesuits. Is this an existing property that they bought but don’t have enough money to destroy the chapel. There has to be something else you aren’t telling.

I bet the National Anti-Catholic Reporter will be outraged at the Jesuits for building a Catholic Chapel instead of a "Meditation Space."
