TO BE A FLY ON THE WALL

What a peculiar time in Church history to have two popes, one contemplative and the other active.

I wish I knew what Pope Benedict's thoughts are about the Church today compared to His Holiness' pontificate.

I wonder if His Holiness will put anything into writing to be preserved in the Vatican's Secret Archives about the current polarization, turmoil and palace intrigue?

Pope Benedict had better only have nice thoughts about Francis, or else Mark Thomas might pay him a visit.

Hmmm. I'm pretty sure we have only one Pope or none at all. The office of the Papacy is not personally bifurcated.

I do not for as much as I like and respect the Pope Emeritus, he abdicated.

We have one pope and one pope emeritus.

I pray he's thinking.....WTF, I should have appointed my successor myself instead of having the wolves choose amongst themselves.

Seeing he could barely hold the crozier during his last public Liturgy as pope, I can see why he abdicated, but it was a major major mistake. I can't think he anticipated the mess of this pontificate, and I pray had he known this in advance he would have just stayed pope.
