I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS! IT IS A TIME CAPSULE OF THE 1960’S CHURCH AND THE FEVER THAT EVELOPED SO MANY CATHOLICS WHO WERE PRE-VATICAN II CATHOLICS AND DROPPED ALL OF THAT FOR THE NEW AND IMPROVED, SO THEY PRIDEFULLY AND ARROGANTLY THOUGHT

 THIS IS ADAM AND EVE ALL OVER AGAIN. AND AS POPE FRANCIS RECOVERS THE 1960’S BY GOING BACKWARDS, WHEN WILL BE ABLE TO GO BACK TO THE FUTURE;

THIS IS ABOUT AN HOUR LONG, BUT IT IS HISTORIC! THANK YOU DJR FOR BRINGING THIS TO MY ATTENTION. KEEP IN MIND, ALL THESE PEOPLE WERE FORMED IN THE PRE-VATICAN II CHURCH, MASS AND SACRAMENTS AND THE BALTIMORE CATECHISM. WHY DID THEY ABANDON ALL OF THAT SO EASILY?

And that is STILL my question.

We got the New Mass when I was bout 10 years old. I knew there was something wrong, but I didn't completely get why or how, but I knew it. And to this day, I don't understand why so many people so much older than me who got the full formation that I had hijacked halfway through my Catholic education--why they, of all people, were so eager, so compliant and so willing to fold and just go along with all the trendy nonsense that replaced what came before. And it is those same geriatric imbeciles who are clinging to their failed revolution with such relentless determination. They MUST surely know the game is over. Whatever do they expect to achieve by prolonging their adolescent Church fantasy?

At the 14:00 mark, the video focused upon the experimental parish in Oklahoma, the Community of John XXIII...the "modern," groovy, with-it priest, who offers a with-it "Mass," that includes balloons and guitars...everybody gathered around the small "banquet table."

The priest is Father William Nerin. He was ordained in 1951 A.D. Pre-Vatican II priest...TLM.

He died in 2020 A.D.

Here is his obituary: https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/tribnet/name/william-nerin-obituary?id=12850838

In 1975 A.D., Father Nerin had abandoned the Church...then he married.

His experimental parish, the Community of John XXIII, had separated from the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City.

Here is the Catholic Advocate news article:

https://thecatholicnewsarchive.org/?a=d&d=ca19750306-01.2.7&e=-------en-20--1--txt-txIN--------

OKLAHOMA CITY INC) "The first experimental, nonterritorial parish established in the U.S , the Community of John XXIII, has withdrawn from the jurisdiction of the Oklahoma City Archdiocese.

"The withdrawal followed several months of impasse between the community and Archbishop John Quinn of Oklahoma City over liturgical practices in the community, ending in the archbishop's withdrawal of the assignment of the community's pastor."

The above represents, to reference Pope Benedict XVI, the fake Vatican II...the horrific, destructive, fake Council concocted by radicals who laid waste to the Faith.

Unfortunately, more than a few laymen who should have known better had thrown in with the pew-emptying, Faith-shattering nonsense in question.

Father McDonald said..."KEEP IN MIND, ALL THESE PEOPLE WERE FORMED IN THE PRE-VATICAN II CHURCH, MASS AND SACRAMENTS AND THE BALTIMORE CATECHISM. WHY DID THEY ABANDON ALL OF THAT SO EASILY."

Why?

"Traditionalists" spout a great deal of nonsense. But I do not believe that the following trad claim may be dismissed as typical right-wing nonsense:

Trads have insisted that during the 1940s and 1950s, communists, homosexuals, and modernists had flooded Latin Church seminaries...had flooded the Church. Latin Church seminary life was appalling, according to more than a few trads.

The above echoes that which pre-Vatican II trads had declared.

During the 1940s and 1950s, such leading trads as Father Leonard Feeney insisted that seminaries were in horrific spiritual condition.

Father Leonard Feeney insisted that modernism had pervaded the Church. He insisted that the laity had been catechized poorly...that widespread ignorance of the Faith existed among laymen.

Pope Venerable Pius XII had insisted upon the "modernization" of women's religious orders...including their religious attire.

Archbishop Lefebvre called for the vernacularization of the Mass of the Catechumens to help the Faithful to comprehend the Mass.

During the early 1960s, Father Joseph Ratzinger insisted that beneath the surface, the Latin Church, speaking liturgically/spiritually, was in horrific shape...mired in crisis.

All of the above helps to explain as to why, with such ease, that countless priests, religious, and laymen, had abandoned the Church.

Father McDonald,

As someone who admires your views and attempts to fix a damaged Rite, you may want to consider how annoying, insulting and ignorant MT’s comments are. I suspect John Nolan, like our lovely Bee, simply could not take them any longer. I’m pretty close

Fr. Allan J. McDonald said...

TJM, if MT drives you to distraction, don’t read his comments. Make cogent comments on the post.

TJM said...

Father McDonald, I have made cogent comments and he never responds because he can’t and simply posts more drivel. Good luck

Jerome Merwick said...

TJM,

You and I have posted things here that did little or no good to further the conversations, so in all fairness, just leave Captain Sanctimony alone and don't waste your time lobbying Father McDonald to curb or censor his posting. At the very least, his prolixious prevarications serve as comic relief.

Father McDonald,

Here is Cardinal Burke post Traditionis Crudelis (Custodes) celebrating the TLM in Tampa, Florida. It will grieve the Roche:

Jerome Merwick,

So true, they are Comedy Gold!

For some time now I've skipped over Mark's comments. They are far too long. All our comments should be brief and to the point; brevity, after all, is the soul of wit.

TJM, if anyone here has driven away posters, it has been your mean spirited and insulting ranting, combined with utterly off-topic posts and links to latest ranting by others. MT's posts are tiresome, overlong, and cliche-ridden, and he has a very strange equivalence of holy/vibrant/busy but his droning is easily skipped and ignored.

TJM said...

Bob,

I understand the truth can be harsh

Bob said...

TJM, a man filled with anger and hate is no truth-speaker.

Jerome Merwick said...

"Hate"?

Oh PUH-LEEZ. What's the next accusation? White Supremacy?

Bob said...

Would you care for me to quote just his name calling insults just on his comments on the last five or six blog posts? I would offer to do so, but they do not deserve repeating, nor do I have THAT much time....yes, loads of anger and hate driving off readers and commenters.

TJM said...

Jerome Merwick,

Thanks. Bob is selective in his reading of my comments, many of which offer praise. I’d like him to excoriate Father K for calling President Trump evil while not calling the current occupant of the White House evil when there is far more objective evidence to support that charge

Bob said...

See what I mean? If I do not play by your nasty rules and jump on your enemies, I must be an enemy too. You'll not drag me into your private wars with posters, I pick my own fights, and yours are mainly political disguised/wrapped in an orthodox Catholic flag, and running off the decent posters. Do you really think anyone tunes in here to read your angry rants or Kavanaugh's snide comments? You both are only good at demolition. You live only to argue.

TJM said...

Bob,

Again, you never read my comments of congratulation or praise. Sad. You’re the one who sounds petulant now

Bob said...

Petulant, am I, for pointing out your political diatribes and attacks replete with name calling of other posters, are running off all the decent posters who have ever bothered to visit?

Fine, then, just call me petulant. You, just this very thread, were doing your level best to cancel another poster who at least is far more civil than you. As if, thanks in a large part to you, there are all that many posters remaining at all.

MT, Satan was formed by and looked upon God the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost. Yet he made his choice. There are countless stories of priests, bishops, and popes turning toward evil in every form. The TLM is not a fence depriving us of our free will to love and obey God. It is, however, an uncomfortably clear standard of loving and serving God instead of self. That is why it must be destroyed by men who, like Satan, envy and hate God.

TJM said...

Ok Bob, I see we have a better educated Mark Thomas here, ignoring posts which undercut the narrative you are trying to paint about me. You must take your lessons from the Democrats and leftwing media (but I repeat myself).

Dear TJM and Bob,

Knock it off.

Just stop.

Please.

There are other people who post here who always have to have the last word--you don't have to be like THOSE persons.
