Thank God the Vatican is trying to reign in the Germans. Note that the head of the Bishops’ Conference of Germany uses as his rational to justify the outrages coming from Germany that they are simply listening to their disgruntled people, much of the anger due to the clergy sex abuse scandal, to remake the Church into something that isn’t remotely Roman Catholic. There is no mention of listening to God, Scripture, Tradition, the perennial Magisterium of the Church or the Deposit of Faith. In fact, these things are seen as an enemy of the synodal Church and redesigning a Church that is purely sociological, changeable and of no Divine use whatsoever.
Vatican urges ‘moratorium’ on German church reform process
Money byte:
According to the Vatican’s statement, Parolin in his opening remarks pointed to “the bond of communion and love that unites the bishops among themselves and with the Successor of Peter,” and he also stressed the importance of the meeting as “a moment of sharing and grace, of unity in differences.”
He also voiced concern over certain elements of the German church’s Synodal Path, cautioning against the risk of carrying out “reforms of the Church and not in the Church.”
In his own remarks, Bishop Georg Bätzing of Limburg, President of the German Bishops’ Conference, outlined the work of the Synodal Path thus far, and stressed its guiding spirit (my comment:not the Holy Spirit!!!!)as being rooted in “listening to the people of God and on the pain of the abuses committed by members of the clergy.”
He highlighted the topics discussed in the Synodal Path assemblies thus far, listing them as: Power and division of powers in the church – common participation and missionary planning; Priestly life today; Women in Church ministries and offices; and, Living in relationships that work – living love in sexuality and in the couple relationship.

Is there any well founded reason for the hope that that this is nothing more than a PR move? Hope is a virtue and one ought never despair - but at the same time, the Church never asks us to suspend our God-given intellect. The available evidence points to a smokescreen.
The bishop is rooted in listening to consumers and trying to keep his market share of the Church Tax, and will do or say anything to try not to lose it. Germany, aka, The Bordello Of Europe, has already threatened to cut of unemployment for those who refuse to be prostitutes. The bishop leads the way in showing that such a thing is not all that bad.
This invocation of a spirit of this, that, and the other is potentially scandalous. The One True God through the Holy Spirit is in the Church to lead us any guidance inconsistent with the numerous previous instructions may not come from Him but other pretenders. This reminds me of Exodus 23:20 Behold I will send my angel, who shall go before thee, and keep thee in thy journey, and bring thee into the place that I have prepared.
23:21 Take notice of him, and hear his voice, and do not think him one to be contemned: for he will not forgive when thou hast sinned, and my name is in him. (Douay-Rheims). The Holy Father may rue this day.
