FASCINATING RECOLLECTIONS OF VATICAN II TO INCLUDE POPE EMERITUS I’S UNDERSTANDING….
Unfortunately I think CNS screwed up the editing of this as a lot of the Italian commentary is not translated into English captions!

I have found it mind-boggling that there are Catholics who have insisted that Vatican II is irrelevant...the Council does not mean anything to them, or to millions of Catholics who were born years after the Council.
Well, like it or not, from 1962 A.D. to this second, Vatican II has had a profound, monumental influence upon the Church's every aspect.
Popes Francis, Benedict XVI...our Vatican II Era Popes...have insisted that they conducted their Pontificates in line with Vatican II...that they have viewed their service to the Church through Vatican II's lenses.
Our holy Popes during the past 60 years have, under the Holy Ghost's protection, and in line with Vatican II, taught, governed, and sanctified the Holy People of God.
Vatican II has been of monumental relevance to Holy Mother Church.
As Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI declared recently:
Vatican II "proved to be not only meaningful, but necessary."
Trent was wildly successful whereas Vatican II has been wildly unsuccessful. Were you even around then? I was, and I remember the Church in the US in 1962 at least was at its height, now it's at its nadir.

Mark Thomas,
