Pope Francis Mandates Ad OrientemWorship
Pope Francis settled a dispute by ordering that all (Syro-Malabar) diocesesthroughout the Church celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass ad orientem, versus Deum. My understanding is that the Pope mandated that the Liturgy of the Word be celebrated Versus Populum but the Liturgy of the Eucharist be celebrated Ad Orientem, a compromise, but sensible result. He should mandate this for the Latin Rite even if it upsets "Father Bob" and "Susan from the Parish Council."
Francis - or whoever wrote this for him...he is not just physically ailing.
