My own opinion: If this had been the model for the revised Holy Sacrifice, I suspect the Church's problems (principal among them, apathy/attendance) would be nowhere near as sever as they are today. At a minimum, it would not have been as traumatizing as it was and continues to be.
To the naysayers - Yes, this makes all the difference in the world by changing the dynamic and focus, and by elevating the liturgy back to its vertical state.
It's a shame this cannot be the standard model in your main church. It would instantly lift a very horizontal environment up. Perhaps it would also enable you to rid yourself of that somewhat ill-fitting laudian frontal that is currently on your altar.
