That is interesting. I like the altar, but the rest of the renovation reminds me of the lobby to a large hotel or concert hall. The sensibilities of Midwesterners can be trusted too far. There were many parishes built in the 1950’s and 1960’s with that first appearance. The prairie style home and architectural influences of Frank Lloyd Wright were intended to give an esthetically pleasing structure that carried the identity of the common man. The interpretation of that style was left to the average man and the execution suffered from a lack of understanding of the style.
The renovation is way too glitzy for this building, especially the flooring, the new backdrop to the sanctuary, the blue ceiling and the lighting. I think if they had left everything alone and simple enlarged the sanctuary, respected the stone backdrop and placed a more traditional set up of the sanctuary, that would have been sufficient.
well at lest we're not this stupid, yet, one cup????https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20200302-pilgrims-in-irans-holy-cities-lick-shrines-to-defeat-coronavirus/
