MY FIRST EVER FACEBOOK LIVESTREAM MASS CELEBRATING THE FEAST OF SAINT PATRICK OF IRELAND

I intend to celebrate private Masses and livestream them to my parish and beyond. Here's our first attempt in our Martha and Mary Chapel of Saint Anne Church in Richmond Hill, Georgia:

Shared with the young geeks in our parish that they should follow your example. They were pretty upset at the world last night for having been robbed of the Eucharist. It makes me wonder about myself that I am not that upset. Maybe I just a fight too much.

Bee here:

Fr. McD: I took a look at the video of the livestream Mass you said this morning. It looks great. Though it may feel strange to you to be saying Mass and preaching to an "empty" church, being on this side of the camera is awesome! Imagine, being able to see you preach, hear your voice, see you offer the Body and Blood of Our Lord to the Father in Heaven, and participate in that, from Chicago! Now, THAT is awesome!

I am so glad you are doing this. Your parishioners especially, I'm sure, will get great consolation knowing they can still pray with you and participate in the worship of God as you offer the Mass each day. In this time of uncertainty and fear, of changes in daily routine, being able to see and remotely join with our parish priests for Mass brings a sense of security and calm.

It boggles my mind what technology offers us today. Livestreaming the Mass is an example of how technology can be used for a great good. You are awesome, Fr. McD!

God bless.

God Bless you Father McDonald. And please be safe. We have all grown to love you over the years even though many of us have never met you in person.
