Press the title for the hilarious comedy stand up show of the Archbishop of Milan by passed by Francis to be a Cardinal naming someone 30 miles away in a podunk town. But, like Saturday Night Live’s satirical comedy, behind the humor are a thousand cuts. And I want to take John Allen to task for not knowing that—please see his money quote beneath the linked title:
Come on, man … Let’s just appreciate a bishop with a sense of humor
But more basically, come on, man … if you can’t tell the difference between humor and hostility, you’re missing a Catholic gene.
My comment: No John, you are missing the point of the humor, to deride the pope’s snubbing of Milan and in the truth delivered humorously. Behind every clown is a sad face.
