AD ORIENTEM ENHANCES THE BEAUTY OF THE MASS AND ELIMINATES THE DISTRACTIONS OF FACIAL CONTORTIONS AND QUESTIONABLE LOOKS…

This first photo could greatly be enhanced by beauty, mystery and awe if the orientation of the priests were such as we couldn’t see their faces, difficulty reading words and grimaces.  A little attention to the details of choreography would help too!

Let’s pretend this photo is of the exact same Mass with the exact same facial expressions and other antics as the one above. How much more beautiful this makes that Mass look, no?

"Grace Builds On Nature" Grimaces, frowns, smiles and all.

I suppose that if mass were celebrated ad orientem, there would be people who would complain about father's bald spot...

I was actually at an English language Novus Ordo Mass where the priest celebrated ad orientem. The experience was amazing. The dignity and sacredness of it all was amazing. I have always believed that going to versus populum celebration was the most deleterious of the “reforms.” It invites “creativity” and the priest as “talk show host.”

I would rather see Father's bald spot than his kisser!
