DIOCESE OF SAVANNAH PRIEST DIES UNEXPECTEDLY

Father Robert Girardeau died unexpectedly this past Sunday. I processed his application to the diocese to become a seminarian and worked with him as his vocation director until he was ordained. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him.

I heard the news of his untimely death during the noon mass at the cathedral on Tuesday. The loss of good young priests like him are hard to take. Sometimes I wonder why God would allow this when we are in such desperate need of men like him.
I will continue to pray for him and for more new priests like him.

On a lighter note, the St. Patrick's day parade in Savannah was great. We were accross the street from the Cathedral. Very good view and not many obnoxious people. Thanks for the advice. We did make the mistake of going down to River street but didn't stay long after realizing what that was all about.
