NOSTALGIA FOR THE 1970’S IS SO FUNNY, THAT I WANT TO CRY!

IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGH COMEDY THAT IS THE CHURCH TODAY, TRULY A LAUGHINGSTOCK, THIS HAS TO BE THE COMMENT OF THIS HILARIOUS ECCLESIAL CENTURY CONCERNING THE LINKED POST I HAVE BELOW. IT BROUGHT ME BELLIE LAUGHS!

Controversy amongst Belgian Catholics: both of them?

Hand it to Pope Francis. Undoing the restored discipline and theological clarity of Popes St. John Paul II and Benedict XVI has been a hayride of rollicking fun and sneezing comedy.

Backwardism has become a new cliche, but perhaps not in the way Pope Francis meant it, but he certainly has engendered nostalgia in the longing for the 1970’s crowd. This pope has been their Time Machine back to a better place for them prior to the last two popes.

Laugh and weep at this story. You can’t make it up unless you are in a Time Machine!

Sounds like Martin Luther is on the march again in Europe. I believe abolishing the priesthood, from the Pope on down, was a key tenet of him thesis. I was at an adult formation session just last night where Luther was the topic. How prescient. There were about 30 people there from my parish. At the end a woman made the comment that Pope Pius X and Francis have "ignoring the problem until it is too late" in common. Another person said words to the effect 'I think Francis welcomes what is happening in Germany and the heresy coming out of a Cardinal in San Diego. It suits his means to the end'. I thought wow, I wonder how many of us out there are thinking the same thing. Francis wants what is happening to happen.
