DO YOU KNOW WHAT A PARISH MISSION IS AND HAVE YOU ATTENDED ONE?

Our Lenten parish mission begins this weekend and runs Sunday through Wednesday at 7 pm each night with Father Jewel Aytona, with the Fathers of Mercy. He preaches his mission within the context of Exposition and Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament and concluding with Benediction. Father also hears Confessions before and after the Mission talks.

Whats wrong with "one God?"

"One" is, apparently, not in the original Latin texts.

For example:

"Qui vivis et regnas,
cum Deo Patre in unitate Spiritus Sancti,
Deus, per omnia saecula saeculorum."

Also, in the collect for the 1st Sunday of Lent, for example:

"Grant, almighty God,
through the yearly observances of holy Lent,
that we may grow in understanding
of the riches hidden in Christ
and by worthy conduct pursue their effects.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever."

the word "God" in the last line refers to "our Lord Jesus Chrst" in the third to the last line.

"Lord Jesus Christ, (who is) God for ever and ever."
