Father Daffy:
The NCR’s Sean Winters makes me laugh too. He writes wild articles that are so biased you know why he works for NCR. He’s biased. He’s an NCRer. It is a Chismatic form of Catholicism he promotes and he doesn’t accept Vatican II. And we all know that we cannot show concessions to anyone who sins against Vatican II, no accompaniment whatsoever. Did Pope Francis really mean that?
I will acknowledge as I always have, that a Catholic is a person who is in union with the Church that Jesus Christ founded and named Peter to be her visible head on earth, and his successors. To be Catholic one has to be in union with the pope, the Deposit of Faith, and the Ordinary and Extraordinary Magisteriums of the Church, either the pope with the world’s bishops in an ecumenical council or the pope acting alone within the Tradition of continuity when he enunciates infallible teachings.
Thus we have those who reject Vatican II outright. They break communion with the pope. And then there is a cafeteria approach to Vatican II which Sean Winters and the paper for which he writes follow. They accept its “spirit” that allows for all kinds of experimentation. It allows for a certain kind of dissent, progressive but not conservative. It allows for liturgical deformation based upon an ecumenical and interfaith point of view. It allows for pastoral accompaniment and communion for those in a state of manifest adultery, but not for those who are unfaithful to the NCR’s version of Vatican II.
But it is they who truly reject Vatican II and no concessions or accompaniment should be afforded them.
This is what the NCR advocates:
1. Pro choice
2. Gender ideology
3. Blessing homosexual unions and changing the teaching on the Sacrament of Marriage
4. Changing the teaching on the Sacrament of Holy Orders to allow women access to all three stages of it
5. Intercommunion
6. Communion to anyone of good will, baptized or not, human or animal
7. Other?
Just who rejects Vatican II more? SSPX or the editorial board of the NCR?

Winters will be devastated by this statement of then Cardinal Bergoglio on behalf of the Latin America bishop conferences:
“the Church’s Eucharistic coherence required that holy communion not be distributed to those Catholics in politics and medical practice who were not in full communion with the Church because they were facilitating or participating in such grave moral evils as abortion and euthanasia.”
Given that Catholic Joe Biden, a perennial promoter of abortion and also same-sex marriage, receives Communion with the blessing of the local bishop is nothing short of a crisis of incoherence, especially of what the Church has taught about the Eucharist for millennia.
So Cardinal Gregory is violating the principle enunciated by Pope Francis. No wonder people are walking away.
True orthodox Roman Catholics do not oppose the Council but insist on interpreting council documents in continuity with Sacred Tradition. Pope Benedict gave us this teaching to head off formal schism within the Church. However, it is clear that over the time secular philosophers and other false teachers have successfully damaged the faith of not a few theologians and members of the Church hierarchy.
The Church of Sacred Tradition is always going remain intact. Yet, the babel of voices claiming legitimacy, teaching authority is now an un-holy mess. Pope Francis's now infamous call to his fans to make Hagen Lio (sp?) was totally unnecessary. It already existed, it was and still is the spirit of the council faction aggressively fomenting theological revolution not seen since Reformation times. Over the years, we have heard at catechism classes: "everything is up for grabs." Did Jesus ever say this?
No matter. Since those days in the 60's, the changes forced upon us, by and large, have been inimical to our understanding and existence as Roman Catholics. St. Thomas Aquinas is out, Marx, Kant, Hegel, Sartre, and other popular atheistic philosophers are in with our theologians. Critical theory in all its shades dominate current Vatican documents. One finds them particularly in Jesuit inspired --anti-Ratzinger, anti-orthodox Catholic --propaganda publications. So, who is fomenting schism? Who are in schism? They are the heterodox casting aspersions on the faithful, the preening authority figures are the wreckers of Peter's bark not the poor peons doing the rowing, keeping it, if barely, afloat.
Your name-calling & middle-school insults are always super convincing!
Please provide proof that anyone at NCR advocate for intercommunion with non baptised persons. Just because you attribute beliefs to others doesn’t make it true.
