ANTEBELLUM CHARM

Nothing says “south” more than a Magnolia! This one is the ancient one in front of The Church of the Most Holy Trinity in downtown Augusta. Don’t know the couple, but know that tree well.

Magnolias are beautiful trees. They do make me sneeze when they are in full bloom because they drop such great amounts of pollen. There was one, not nearly as large as the one in the photo, in the park across the street from our home in Sumter. It was large one that all the kids could climb it without fear of breaking a branch.

Lovely photos.

They are evergreens like the live oak, but all year long they drop stuff, leaves, pods you trip on, etc.

I know I have two on my property which Eddie Deloach built in the 80s.
