YES, VIRGINIA, THIS IS THE NORMATIVE LEX ORANDI ROMAN MISSAL OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH PREFERRED TWO TO ONE BY POPE FRANCIS!
This was our Friday's Lenten Daily Mass in our Martha and Mary Chapel of Saint Anne Church. I input these in order but when I post them they are out of order, so typical of what Original Sin has done to everything!

I watched the recording of the Ash Wednesday penitential procession from St Anselm to St Sabina in Rome, followed by Mass and imposition of ashes. The celebrant was Cardinal Parolin, standing in for the Pope.
The cardinal was assisted by two deacons, which made this a Solemn Mass, yet he chose not to sing anything, simply reciting everything in Italian. However, the purpose of this comment is not to carp. I was impressed by the following.
Everything was conducted with an objective dignity appropriate to the occasion. The vestments were in a tasteful 'modern' cut, neither minimalist nor over-elaborate. The singing was in Latin and included both chant and polyphony - and it was very well done. At the end everyone sang the Ave Regina Caelorum, before leaving in silence.
It was the authentic Novus Ordo, and authentically Catholic. Contrary to what many think, the new rite does not require playing to the audience, ad-libbing, pop-style music, sentimental hymns and altar girls.
John Nolan,
Thanks for your report. If this were the norm many of us would not be complaining
Regarding the photos provided here, I suspect some, by no means all of the collapse within the Roman Church would have been avoided by following this model. The ordering and theology is just "us", not "us" trying to be protestant on steroids.
ByzRus,
As one who prefers the EF, I think you are correct in your observation. We would have retained a dignified liturgy which honors our musical tradition, a sort of media res. Of course staunch traditionalists would not have been completely happy but I doubt they would have walked away. The progressives likely would have been more likely to walk away because you can never satisfy their continuously changing needs
