NATIONAL CHISMATIC REPORTER STRIKES AGAIN

This is an excerpt from the NCR article about the New York Times article on traditional Christians. It reads like a parody:

Reading this, I could not help but think of the Pachamama statues that were stolen from a Roman church and batted into the Tiber river during the Amazon Synod in October 2019. I was in Rome at the time and was both devastated and enraged by this act of desecration, which was not only racist and misogynist, it reasserted the neocolonial, white supremacist mentality that is at the root of the destruction of the Amazon and its native peoples.

Read the whole thing there:

Are 'Weird Christians' really 'punk,' or just elitist?

Maybe I'm a weird Christian, but it seems like the Vatican using the indigenous peoples of the Amazon as a tool to support globalization, which will surely work to the disadvantage of said indigenous peoples, is more problematic that throwing an idol into a river.

The idea that the indigenous peoples need a bunch of -- dare I say it? -- white European prelates to rescue them from their plight sounds like its based on a "neocolonial, white supremacist mentality" that is "racist." I've no idea where the misogyny comes it, but neither does the author, really.

The root of destruction of the Amazonian people is globalization -- the very globalization that the Vatican is using them to promote. Pulling some token people from the Amazon and parading them about as a spectacle in Rome for a week was a disgusting display even without the idol worship.

The Vatican under Francis is pretty much disgusting. I never heard what Francis did to the prelates there involved in a meth fueled gay sex orgy

What a hoot! Jamie Manson appears to have won a competition on how to get as many left-wing clichés as possible into a single sentence. I am 'devastated and outraged' that she might have beaten me into second place.

J.P. said...

Everything in Jamie Manson's article reflects anger at white males and equates Jesus' mission with attainment of "power" for whomever perceives themselves as "oppressed" or disadvantaged.

I'm not saying that the Church should not have a voice in the political sphere, but poor Miss Manson seems to be far more concerned with what she's learned from Betty Friedan, Angela Davis and Fr. James Martin than by anything she could possibly find in the gospels.

The ugliness, hatred, and arrogance within certain "traditional" Catholic circles is on display today via a disgraceful tweet.

Tomorrow, our holy and great Culture of Life Roman Pontiff, Pope Francis, will join countless folks who, via prayers, fasts, and acts of charity, will entreat God to end the Covid-19 pandemic.

But not Rorate Caeli. Said folks have tweeted a photo of a table packed with food. The caption reads: "Getting the feast ready for tomorrow's Francis' "Fast with Infidels"."

What a nasty, hateful response to Pope Francis, who declared that he will stand with "all peoples around the world to do good deeds, observe fast, pray, and make devout supplications to God Almighty to end this pandemic.”

We can always count upon Rorate Caeli, and their fellow "traditional" Catholics, to shake their fists at "Francis"...to act in nasty, arrogant fashion against the Vicar of Christ.

Pope Francis, along with countless men and women of good will, will pray, fast, and perform acts of charity as they implore God to deliver us from the Covid-19 virus.

Said folks will bow in humble fashion to God.

But Rorate Caeli will respond with a defiant, in-your-face — literally — feast.

No wonder many bishops, priests, and laymen are leery of "traditional" Catholics.

Good job, Rorate Caeli. Once again, you have presented "traditional" Catholics as nasty, arrogant, Vicar of Christ-hating separatists.

Tomorrow's image:

Pope Francis, with countless Catholics, and non-Catholics of good will, will pray, fast, and perform acts of charity, as they entreat God to end the Covid-19 pandemic...they will stand with Covid-19 sufferers.

Tomorrow's image among "traditional" Catholics who stand with Rorate Caeli:

They will fill their guts with food and drink...a feast...as they separate from the Vicar of Christ, and those who stand with him in humble fashion to entreat God to deliver us — "traditional" Catholics included — from the Covid-19 virus.

"Ha, ha, Bergolio. Ha, ha, you mere "Novus Ordo folks." You can fast. We will feast."

"In defiance of you and Bergoglio, we will fill our faces with food. Ha, ha. We have separated from you. Ha, ha."

I find it impossible to believe that tomorrow even one, just one, holy, humble, Cardinal, bishop, priest, religious, or layman, will throw in with Rorate Caeli's arrogant, face-stuffing, vile response to Pope Francis' approved day of prayer, fasting, and acts of charity.

An example of the "holy, humble" people who will be joining Pope Francis in prayer and fasting can be found at the link:

I give credit to people of good will, even if misguided in certain ways, who today have humbled themselves via prayers, fasts, and acts of charity, to beg God to deliver us from the Covid-19 Virus.

Conversely, today, the Vicar-of-Christ haters at Rorate Caeli have continued their verbal assault against the Vicar of Christ, as well as countless holy, humble Catholics, and countless men and women of good will.

Rorate Caeli posted additional photos of food...Rorate Caeli's message: Stuff one's face with food today in defiance of the Vicar of Christ, as well as countless holy, humble Catholics (and countless folks of good will) who have bowed before God today to beg for the end to Covid-19.

Rorate Caeli's response in question is sick, sorry, and Satanic. They have shaken their fists at the Vicar of Christ...at men and women of good will...who have entreated God to deliver us from the virus.

Again, even if some of their ways are misguided, men and women of good will have stood today with His Holiness, Pope Francis, to entreat God to deliver us from Covid-19.

Rorate Caeli, in turn, has led the charge today against the Vicar of Christ...to fill one's gut with food and drink...to mock Pope Francis...to mock men and women of good will who have prayed, fasted, and performed acts of charity today to entreat God to halt the virus.

Pachamama? Pachamama?

Is that a reference to the statue that, during the Vatican Gardens ceremony, was identified by Catholics as "Our Lady of the Amazon"?

You mean the statue whose identification as "Pachamama," that His Holiness, Pope Francis, rejected?

You mean the statue that Pope Francis rejected as having been linked in any way to paganism?

Yes. Please. I will be happy to receive the wonderful Catholic statue in question.

Oh...feel free to read the Church of Rome's official press release in question — the one that featured Pope Francis' declarations in question.

Again, I would be blessed to have the Our Lady of the Amazon Catholic statue that had graced the Vatican Gardens.

But please don't send me a Pachamama doll.

Robot: "Danger Will Robinson! Danger Will Robinson. Pachamama approaches! Pachamama approaches!"

Will Robinson: "Robot, you mean Our Lady of the Amazon. Right?"

Robot: "Negative, Will Robinson. I mean Pachamama. You know, the statue that was not...not...in the Vatican Gardens."

Mark Thomas fails to mention the link between the grandiosely named 'Higher Committee of Human Fraternity' which organized this event, and the joint declaration signed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Cairo on 4 February 2019 in Abu Dhabi which said that religious pluralism and diversity were 'willed by God in his wisdom'. Cardinal Müller and Bishop Schneider were among many who quickly refuted this notion, and MT for once did not rush to complain that his hero was being defamed by malevolent traditionalists.

The HCHF is sponsored by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and plans to build an 'Abrahamic House' in Abu Dhabi to represent Jewish, Christian and Islamic traditions. Since the main aim is 'world peace', this allows the UAE to divert attention from its role in causing and sustaining the humanitarian catastrophe in South Yemen.

I read Rorate Caeli for its well-informed and pertinent articles, whereas MT merely trawls the twitter feed for things to be offended about. In this case the sarcastic reference to feasting was a suitable response to the preposterous 'Higher Committee' with its self-serving humbug, high-flown platitudinous nonsense and rank hypocrisy. MT answers sarcasm with sarcasm of his own, but his holier-than-thou attitude and tiresome prolixity robs it of any impact or humour it might have possessed.

1. Rorate Caeli presented its sick, sorry response in question — let's respond to the day of prayers, fasts, and acts of charity — by stuffing our faces with food.

They presented their hateful response as serious and legitimate against Pope Francis, as well as countless humble and holy people, who had spent yesterday in prayer, self-denial, and acts of charity to entreat God to end the Covid-19 Virus.

2. One Catholic diocese and Eparchy after another responded favorably to the initiative in question.

Countless Catholics and non-Catholics yesterday humbled themselves as they begged for God's mercy to end the virus.

Rorate Caeli mocked and insulted the people in question.

Rorate Caeli exhorted "traditional" Catholics to stick it to their countless brothers and sisters who had turned to God in humble fashion to end the virus.

At the very least, should they not have wished to have participated in yesterday's event, then Rorate Caeli should have remained silent...move on...let the day pass.

Instead, Rorate Caeli had to jump into the spotlight..."look at us...we oppose Francis and his Novus Ordo sycophants who beg God to deliver us from the virus...look at us...we're Rorate Caeli, ready always to oppose evil Francis."

Anyway, Mister Nolan. Feel free to support Rorate Caeli, and their hateful words and actions.

Marc said..."I'll be clear: The bishop is wrong. Rome is wrong. Communion in the hand is wrong. Left-wing loonyism is modern Catholicism, and it too is wrong. But, that's what you have to deal with in order to be in communion with the Catholic Church and its bishops."

But it has been this way from the earliest ages of the Church, as can be demonstrated from the canons of the council of Nicaea, which treated with all kinds of abuses going on at the time.

Incorrect liturgical practices have always been present in the Church.

Canon 18 of Nicaea

It has come to the knowledge of the holy and great Synod that, in some districts and cities, the deacons administer the Eucharist to the presbyters, whereas neither canon nor custom permits that they who have no right to offer should give the Body of Christ to them that do offer. And this also has been made known, that certain deacons now touch the Eucharist even before the bishops. Let all such practices be utterly done away, and let the deacons remain within their own bounds, knowing that they are the ministers of the bishop and the inferiors of the presbyters. Let them receive the Eucharist according to their order, after the presbyters, and let either the bishop or the presbyter administer to them. Furthermore, let not the deacons sit among the presbyters, for that is contrary to canon and order. And if, after this decree, any one shall refuse to obey, let him be deposed from the diaconate.

Mark Thomas must have been trained in the Faith subsequent to Vatican Disaster II, so lacks the intellectual tools to understand articles written at Rorate Caeli. I am disappointed that Mark Thomas has NEVER responded to me about PF's lack of action involving the homosexual clerics at the Vatican who were involved in a meth fueled gay sex orgy within the Vatican's very walls. Father Roberto Carrasco Rojas, Missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate. Vatican Gardens Event Organizer.

Father Rojas identified the statue as "Our Lady of the Amazon."

Then we get:

Pope Francis issued a statement the rejected the notion that the statue was "Pachamama."

Pope Francis rejected the claim that the statues in question were linked to paganism.

WELL GEE! IMAGINE--DENYING SOMETHING IS PAGAN AFTER BEING CAUGHT! ISN'T THAT SELF-SERVING?

Then Vatican spokesman Andrea Tornielli is stuck trying to explain it and just steps deeper into it, describing:

“an image of motherhood and the sacredness of life, a traditional symbol for indigenous peoples representing the bond with our ‘mother earth,’ as described by Saint Francis of Assisi in his Canticle of the Creatures.”

So what is it Vatican bureaucrats? You can't have it both ways.

The Blessed Mother is a woman of great dignity. The highest dignity. She is never portrayed naked.

That hideous, ugly, pagan statue is an embarrassment to any 2nd grader who understands his faith. As to the rest of PF's sycophants: Nice try.

And Mark, go ahead and stick one on top of your fireplace. It suits you perfectly.

-- The statue, during the Vatican Gardens event, was presented to His Holiness, Pope Francis as Our Lady of the Amazon.

-- Father Roberto Carrasco Rojas, Missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate. Vatican Gardens Event Organizer. He identified the statue as Our Lady of the Amazon.

-- Perhaps the most powerful of all...a 2018 A.D youtube video...well prior to the 2019 A.D. Vatican Gardens Event, identified the statue(s) as the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I will go with the above powerful facts.
