LOCAL ATLANTA NEWS STATION ASKS WHAT’S UP WITH TANKS ROLLING THROUGH ATLANTA ON FRIDAY! MORE THAT LIKELY HEADING TO SAVANNAH’S PORT FOR DEPLOYMENT IN EUROPE
If headed towards Savannah then hmmm. If headed west then likely going to the National Training Center at Ft Irwin, CA. I would be surprised if these M1 tanks are headed to Europe. Most of the equipment we would need is already in storage there and all we have to do is "fall in on it". That said, based on the paint job, this looks like equipment for, or from the 3ID at Ft Stewart. I know they are sending a BCT from that division to Europe but again, any equipment they would need is already there and if this is their equipment, it wouldn't be rolling through Atlanta. Their railhead is at Ft Stewart and runs straight to the port in Savannah where it is loaded on RORO ships that come from Alabama and sail directly from Savannah. Based on all this I do not imagine this has anything to do with what is happening in Ukraine.
