SHOULD WE USE THE BLUER HUES OF VIOLET DURING MASS?

I am sure everyone will love the ad orientem of this Liturgy. But which rite of the Church is it??????
And of course, the perennial Advent color of vestments conundrum will visit us once again as we begin the First Sunday of Advent.

Should we use, like in the photo below, the bluer hues of violet????????

The photo shows an Episcopalian service (female deacon and idiosyncratic Byzantine chasuble) and Anglicans often use blue in Advent because at one time it was touted by a famous firm of vestment makers as being the Sarum colour (it wasn't - the Advent colour was black, although in the Middle Ages black was a difficult dye to fix and often faded to brown or blue).

I see no reason to follow our separated brethren down the road of historical inaccuracy. Advent is a penitential season, although less so than Lent; this is obvious since although the Gloria is omitted, the Alleluia is retained. The many different shades of purple/violet have no symbolic significance.

Atlanta's Episcopal Cathedral of St. Philip (literally yards from the Catholic one) hosted an Advent lessons and carols service yesterday, and the officiant wore a blue cope, while the altar was draped in blue. I asked him after the service about the color blue, and he says in Anglicanism, blue and purple are the options for Advent, purple being the more penitential color. Interestingly, a lot of this service was sung in Latin! If the Episcopal Church eventually goes out of business, hopefully the Catholic cathedral in Atlanta could relocate there---it is much larger in seating capacity and not as dark. Maybe we could trade Christ the King for St. John the Baptist?!?
