WHY IN THE NAME OF GOD AND ALL THAT IS HOLY, DON’T WE HAVE MORE CARDINALS AND BISHOPS LIKE THESE?

But the good news is that we have these good bishops who live on the periphery of the USCCB and current Holy See:

Some good stuff here. But it shows how poorly trained and actually exploited and manipulated the current group of Cardinals and bishops are. They don’t have a chance against a guy like McCarrick. I am also very reluctant to give this problem over to a group of laity for resolution. We did that with the music and now we all have wind beneath our wings. In fact, I think that idea is a planted thought in these poor men’s clouded minds.

RCG, you are right about the laity as they are as malformed as some bishops who formed the laity. Just look at our once very religious hospitals and Catholic schools. These have for the most part been turned over the lay boards of trustees with some clergy input. It is hard to distinguish these institutions from secular private institutions, especially our schools and universities.

I know Bishop Paprocki. He is an outstanding man in all respects: canon and civil lawyer, hockey player, distance runner, and last but not least, the first priest I saw celebrating Mass in Latin when I moved to Chicago 30 years. He confirmed my eldest daughter and wowed the kids with his sermon. HE should have been the Archbishop of Chicago, but talent and holiness are not a requirement under this pontificate but adherence to a secular, worldly agenda.

The reason I do not give up on the Church is because of priests like him, and my natural Irish stubborness in not caving into the loonies who presently hold sway. Their days are numbered.

There are plenty of decent bishops, but they are very circumspect in their words and actions, since the atmosphere in the Vatican is toxic, thanks to Bergoglio and his cronies. When Bergoglio (the worst choice of pope in hundreds of years) goes to his reward, things will change.

But not until then.
