(Crux)The Emeritus died on Saturday, December 31 at 9:30 am Rome time. As of Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, Benedict’s remains will be placed in St. Peter’s Basilica to allow faithful to pay their final respects.
His funeral will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 5 at 9:30a.m. in St. Peter’s Basilica, and will be presided over by Pope Francis.

May God grant eternal life to Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. May the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, and all the Saints, intercede for Pope Emeritus.
Pope Emeritus remains our great Culture of Life advocate.
Pope Emeritus insisted that we must apply pro-life teachings to combat everything from the abominable crime of abortion, the death penalty, as well as climate change. (He insisted that climate change was real.)
His determination to protect God's Creation in all forms was so powerful that he insisted that world peace was impossible as long as mankind polluted the environment.
He insisted upon love, and peace...to reject violence.
Peace to you, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.

Requiescat in Pace - a truly holy and great Pontiff
Sophia says: May this faithful shepherd, gentle courageous son of Holy Mother Church who served his Divine Master with his whole heart, mind and soul have heard the words, " Well done, you good and faithful servant...." as he entered into Eternity"!
And May he continue to intercede for Holy Mother Church, " the barque of Peter" !
This certainly marks the end of an era!
