BOMBSHELL: small fry, fried, while BIGGER FISH swim freely….

This rather shocking development will do nothing to heal the polarization going on in the USA and elsewhere often indicated by political polarization. We’ve seen that on comments on my blog as it concerns the right to life of the innocent unborn and Catholic politicians who are in open rebellion against the defined moral teachings of the Church on the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception and facilitate the murder of these babies, the hiring of hit men, as Pope Francis often describes it, to kill unborn babies.

But one of the dysfunctions that has increased in the Church since Vatican II, is freelancing priests who think they are in private practice and can do things their way. Of course the theme song of hell is “I did it my way!”

Frank Pavone, when he was ordained, as all priests do at their ordination, make a solemn promise or vow that they will be obedient to their bishop in the areas of faith, morals and discipline. It seems that Frank Pavone has pushed this envelop in ways that are unacceptable to his local bishop, the papal nuncio and Pope Francis.

In my most humble opinion, though, it seems to me, as unworthy as I am to judge, that the pope has used a stone to crush a small fly instead of a flyswatter. Or, to use another metaphor, the pope has bigger fish to fry than this small fry who should have been thrown back to his bishop.

I can’t believe this to be an act of revenge by the current pope, but who knows? Some have said that he has taken out his frustration with every traditional and neo-traditional Catholic who prefers the TLM based upon what a small fry fomented as it concerns the pacha-mamma debacle during the Amazon Synod.  If true, that would be rather small-minded and stunning to say the least.

It seems to me that a “suspension a divina” would have been a better route to go rather than laicization which no opportunity to appeal that decision. But who am I to judge. And if Pavone is to be believed, that he found out about his laicization by reading it in the Catholic press goes beyond unjust.

Bishop Strickland of Tyler, Texas, quite outspoken about the current leadership in the Vatican, and because of this and the following tweet, I fear for him that he might meet Pavone’s same fate, writes what I think half of the Catholics, if not more, in the USA and around the world are feeling about the unusual severity meted out to Frank Pavone when others in the Church, both lay and clerical, deserve it much more:

The blasphemy is that this holy priest is canceled while an evil president promotes the denial of truth & the murder of the unborn at every turn, Vatican officials promote immorality & denial of the deposit of faith & priests promote gender confusion devastating lives…evil

That does not mean that Bishop Strickland's outspokenness is correct...or should be taken seriously. All it means is that Bishop Strickland has expressed an opinion(s).

But it is a two-way street.

Therefore, "the current leadership in the Vatican" is free to criticize Bishop Strickland.

If Bishop Strickland is free to criticize others, then it is only fair that others are free to criticize Bishop Strickland.

MT,

And we are free to criticize a pathetic, corrupt pope whom you worship!

TJM,

All we can do is be patient and pray while the enemies of Jesus Christ and His Church rejoice in what they believe to be ongoing triumph.

Their "reward" will perish. Their renown will become infamy. Their god is their egos. Their days are numbered.
