Just this morning a permanent deacon said to me that a pro-choice Catholic came to him gloating about what has happened to Frank Pavone. He said to him, “I guess you anti-abortion Catholics need to rethink your beliefs.” Stunning!
Frank Pavone responds somewhat defiantly to what has happened to him. The charges are disobedience to his bishop and blasphemous communications on social media. I think we can figure our the disobedience issue, but most of us are left scratching our heads about the blasphemy part.
And then there is the need for transparency from the papal nuncio who made this public. So much of this is a head scratcher to say the least. Do we really need more scandal?

If the law had been applied consistently, I don't think anyone would be questioning what is happening, but alas.
