The pandemic spreading post-Vatican II Mass. One liturgical scholar promotes improved way of celebrating this Mass in order to kill off the remaining Catholics who actually attend the new and improved Mass. I’m using her logic!
Discerning the Lex Orandi
I think we have to demand more from so-called liturgical scholars who, for the most part, are responsible for the dismal state of the liturgy and Church today.
Read the entire article for the so-many absurdities contained in it. But let me focus just on one silly absurdity.
Here is the quote:
Traditionalists have challenged this development. In 2001, in a book entitled The Problem of the Liturgical Reform, the Society of St. Pius X took aim at the paschal mystery as the very heart of what they reject in the reformed liturgy. For them, the Mass is about the expiation of sin through the sacrifice of Christ. The Resurrection really has nothing to do with it.
My comments: This accusation is so silly and baseless as to make me cringe, but there you have it. The Mass as expiation for our sins through the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross has nothing to do with the resurrection.
This is so silly; it is outrageous. It is like trying to decide which is more important, Christmas or Easter? My answer could be the absurd “neither” as the Annunciation and Incarnation are more important. If you focus on the resurrection of Christ without his Incarnation, what good it that?
We all know the ideology of the SSPX, but they aren’t stupid. They know that the Expiation of our Sin at Calvary demands and implies they accept the incarnation and not only that, but the Virgin Birth and not only that, the Resurrection, but not only that, the Ascension, Pentecost, and wait for this, the Second Coming of Christ, the Last Judgment and the resurrection of the dead!

It’s that darn Latin Creed. If it was in English she would understand what traditionalists believe.
The NO lacks the necessary organic connection to Catholic Faith Tradition, specifically, to Vatican I and Trent. The new Mass is a rootless plant. So, sadly, it is bound not to thrive now or even in the long run. The fatal fault is that it reduces the source and summit of Christian worship, the Mass, to a mole hill. Its architects and present day advocates would want us to pretend it is more like Mt. Everest. The assertion is contradicted by reality. The whole situation is reminiscent of the last days of the Soviet empire. I predict the 'Synod thingy' will be its last hurrah. (Every breakdown is a breakthrough, so opined D.H. Lawrence). After that, with Gods help, the longed for renewal may begin again: the true reform of the reform of V-2.
Rita? LOL
Father McDonald and Father Fox,
This is a must read article for you both. It is a 2021 survey of priestly attitudes and it shows that priests ordained after 2010 are overwhelmingly orthodox compared to those ordained prior to 1980. A surprise to me is that only 5 percent of the priests ordained after 2000 identify as gay whereas 21 percent of the priests ordained prior to 1981 identify as gay.
here it is:

If there is anything the folks on the left have proven, it's this: When they have no argument left, they lie and they do so boldly and loudly to ensure that the lie is repeated. Just look at the legacy media's meltdown about the acquittal of a young man who was clearly innocent of charges that never should have been brought against him in the first place.
The objective? Stir the people up into rebellion against reality.
That is exactly what Rita Ferrone at Sapientia does with this ridiculous rant.
If the public doesn't think the way we tell them to think, we'll think of a reason that they should and present it as truth.
Jerome Merwick,
Rita is a gnat. The sentient don't take her seriously. I note that this morning Alan Dershowitz, liberal Democrat and the nation's pre-eminent constitutional lawyer, said Kyle Rittenhouse has a case for libel and slander against CNN. But that's standard operating procedure for modern liberals: lie, lie, lie to support their narrative, facts be damned.
Jerome Merwick,
Our resident lefty must be in mourning today for the driver who mowed down several people in Waukesha yesterday during a Christmas parade, killing 5 innocents. A member of his Party, no doubt
TJM,
Since you bring up our "resident lefty"--we all know of whom you speak--I am going to take a page from his book with a slight prompting from you and re-direct my comments to something you brought up: The driver who plowed into the crowd.
I don't know any other way to say this than to be blunt. There is nothing wrong with black people. Blacks are simply part of one of many races that exist on our planet. BUT THERE IS SOMETHING TERRIBLY WRONG, DEPRAVED AND EVIL ABOUT THE CULTURE OF BLACK AMERICANS--not all black Americans, mind you, but too many and the most visible among us.
1). Glorifying criminal behavior.
This speaks for itself.
2). Utter rejection of the society in which they live, only to demand that they be accepted by that society and complain when they are relegated to the bottom rungs. What do I mean? The sheer absurdity of the names made up by black people, with the fake Africanisms and relentless apostraphes: D'Andre, Keshanta, Klamidia, whatever...Then they get mad if you don't pronounce their name right or spell it wrong? If a young black person, God forbid, learn grammatically correct English, he/she is vilified in the most hateful way for "acting white" OR "talking white"--a reminder of the shameless contempt in which they hold white people. So when these kids who grow up in houses where they never hear English spoken correctly cannot pass their classes at school and flunk out of college when their eligibility expires, they blame white people for it. They've created their own failure box and they refuse to move out of it. If this culture gave even HALF as much encouragement and adulation to the notion of education as they do to athletics, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
3). Rap/Hip Hop/"music"--any moron who can repeat some infantile phrase over and over ("Watch me nay nay"--seriously?) can become a millionaire as long as they do it to some thumping beat. It's an insult to any intelligent person's ears and white people enable it by consuming this crap. Sadly, it biggest fans are too ignorant to feel the embarrassment that they should for even giving this garbage a listen.
4). An oversexed, shameless culture: Most black children today don't ever hear the words "bottom" or "butt"--no, we've already sexualized the language from the beginning: "She be touchin' his booty!" BOOTY? Watch ANY female black pop performer and its an exercise in sluttiness--and let's be honest--white pop singers are just as bad, but where do you think they got their playbook? And the men? All women are now "bitches"? Really? This is the culture that has mainstreamed the "F" word in America. This is the culture that has led the way in illegitimacy so that now we have disgraceful, intolerable compromises in our language like, "Baby Momma" or "Baby Daddy".
5). Illegitimacy/Lack of fatherhood. Over the last year, we have had the spectacle of airplane fight videos and people starting fights in public and in airports and in 90% of the cases, it was black people. The absolute lack of dignity some black people show in public is beyond apalling. There are no fathers in these homes any longer who put limitations on childish behavior, so we have adults who are essentially children acting out in public shouting, "I don't care" as if they are PROUD of their ignorance. It wasn't always this way.

PART TWO
Black people are made in the image and likeness of God. What we as a nation have tolerated, encouraged and enabled is a disgrace to ALL of us. What happened in Waukesha Wisconsin last night is just another byproduct of our willingness to look the other way while the debate on racism in America degenerates into a game of two sides getting even.
This has to stop. Everyone is afraid to talk about it and call it out for what it is. Too many black Americans are destroying themselves and too many of us white people (and Hispanic and Asian) have been intimidated into remaining silent about it because if we call out the behaviors for what they are, we are labeled "racists". Well that's bunk! It's the childish, nihilistic, infantile, senseless nonsense that we continue to tolerate that is CREATING and REINFORCING racism. If we don't stop this, there will be more bloodshed than you can imagine. We are licensing an entire race and many of their misguided allies into a culture of "excusable violence". Wake up.
Black people are fine. The culture many of them live in is depraved, moronic and deadly.
ENABLEMENT UPDATE:
The Catholic University of America is displaying an "icon" which depicts the Blessed Mother's sixth sorrow, holding the dead body of her son, except her son is depicted as George Floyd.
https://www.dailysignal.com/2021/11/22/george-floyd-jesus-painting-catholic-university-of-america-washington-dc/
The artist, who was paid a commission for this "piece" (it's a piece all right) offers the usual white privilege/white guilt/woke boilerplate pabulum about his choice of depicting Christ as George Floyd. However, the remarks of an anonymous student are more telling:
“There are many students, faculty, and staff who are concerned about this, but there is nothing we can do,” added the student, who asked to remain anonymous out of fear of reprisal from the university administration. “And if we sound the alarm, we will be labeled racists.”
Oh, how true. And if we dare to mention that George Floyd's violent criminal history--particularly his rampant drug use and deadly beating of women--then WE are racists. While no one condones kneeling on an arrested person's neck, canonizing dead criminals because a cop might have abused them isn't a productive path.
Unless you want to keep enabling the same thing and watch our society crumble. And crumbling it is.
Thomas Garrett,
The sad truth is that many "catholic" schools are Catholic In Name Only (CINO) and should either reinvigorate the Catholic Faith and value or shut down. In some cases, the mentally ill are running these institutions.
