Cardinal Parolin celebrated Mass for the Swiss Guard today at St. Peter's. The good Cardinal has a nice way of celebrating Mass. He chants nicely and the Third Eucharistic Prayer was in Latin!
It was great seeing the Swiss guard participate in the Mass, act as lectors and some were in the schola!

Now there is a worthy guy to compliment as to a Mass style. I likely would prefer one of the smaller ones at a side altar, if there were any anymore.
The only Mass setting heard these days in San Pietro is the hackneyed Missa de Angelis; the only chant for the Alleluia world-wide is the mode 6 alternative for the Easter Vigil (GR 195).
'But everybody knows it!' And since it is all they hear, they're not going to know anything else, are they?
