THE RELIGION OF SCIENCE IS EXPOSED TO BETHE FALSE RELIGION IT IS WITH ITS CLAIM OF SCIENTIFIC INFALLIBLITY!

I never bought the mask meme and only wore one to placate the fanatics of this religion of science with its claim of infallibility. All they had, though, was snake oil masquerading as science which was only theory, like the Big Bang Theory, the TV show comes to mind in that regard!

Happily so and finally the religion of science with its claim of infallibility is called into question. I questioned it from the beginning since I was schooled in true science and critical thinking. And of course those homemade masks without any kind of seal of approval (because they were homemade!!!) were useless, period, especially after weeks of use without laundering. And the kids wearing those filthy things all day long—oh my! One has to be extremely gullible to buy into the religion of science but we all have our placebos I guess.

Study: Mask Mandates Didn't Help Slow Spread of COVID-19

NOT Kavanaugh here, just someone who has worked in lab science and medicine over the years...

A basic principle for scientific study: Correlation does not equal causality. I repeat: Correlation does NOT equal causality. The study you reference here is a compilation of statistics drawing correlations at best. It is not a rigorous study using scientific method. It is a study involving sifting a massive amount of multi-state statistics. Thus it’s results may or may not reflect an accurate hypothesis. And it has not yet even undergone Peer Review, a mandate for scientific publication. Read the whole article. I agree it makes for interesting reading.

Father, I am not trying to be combative here. You are entitled to your own opinions, as are we all. But I would caution you and myself that our opinions should always be subject to periodic review.

Anon, at 1108 makes an excellent point before I could. I am jealous. If I can add to it, I would say that we operate in areas, not edges or points. So the use of a mask, ecen in groups, can be warranted and even prudent, But cannot be 100% effective.

Another poor research article like so many of the scientific literature coming out today to prop up the careers of the so-called "experts".

Respiratory viral spread is mainly through aerosols not droplets because the latter are heavy and quickly fall to the ground. Currently, the definition between the two is set at 5 microns.

Rag masks are mostly ineffective in stopping the viral spread through aerosols from an infected person. First, a rag mask is not air tight on the face, and will shoot virus contaminated aerosols quite far from its loose sides making the spread worse. Secondly, because of my allergies, I use P100 respirators often in dusty work environments, including full face ones to protect the eyes from contaminants, and it has been known for a long time that even these do not stop viruses in aerosols because aerosols quickly evaporate leaving the smaller raw clusters of viruses to penetrate the cartridge filter barrier. Certainly some viral clusters will cling to the filter, but in rag masks most will just shoot out with almost no effort when breathing. People do not seem to be able to comprehend how small respiratory viruses are, and how difficult it is to filter out such small pathogens with any facial PPE. The more rigourous Danish study of several months ago in Annals of Internal Medicine rightly concluded that there is no statistical difference between wearing and not wearing rag masks.

Governments have gotten themselves into a hole with their incompetent panic response to what is a fairly harmless virus for the vast general population, except for those who are vulnerable, and we know who they are but are still unwilling to protect them. The messiah for all these incompetent governments and their hand-picked parroting "experts" is the Big-Pharma vaccine, which will get them out of their hole. The face mask is a fearmongering by governments to welcome their messiah, that is to say, to make the disease seem much more serious than it is. Is it not shockingly remarkable that the CDC as of a few days ago now suggests a CT of 28 for PCR tests of those vaccinated, while still maintaining 35 for those who are not? By reducing the CT by one, you reduce the positives by a factor of 2. Maybe the Covid vaccines are not as effective as is being claimed, and the parroting "experts" are trying to protect their careers. The way I see it now is that useless rag face masks are a symbol of the state religion (or cult) of Covidism which insults my God by suggesting how incompetent He is in not having designed humans with built-in masks. (But He did design us very well: just look at how complex and effective our natural immune system is, for which we should all be thankful!)

But there are fairly good prophylactics for Covid, something which most people do not know. A few days ago, a study came out of Mexico City which found that the use of Ivermectin home kits for Covid out patients reduced Covid ICU hospitalisations (and deaths) from 52% to 76% depending on the hospital. If you are wondering why the mortality and positive PCR cases in India are going down as fast as they came up, it is because India started supplying Ivermectin kits on mass at the end of April. But of course, a treatment with Ivermectin costs a third of cent.... you do not have to wonder any further why Bill Gates who is highly invested in Big-Pharma is livid at the suggestion that patent rights for Covid vaccines be lifted in USA.

The University of Louisville seems to be a very good corrective to the mask meme, especially the homemade masks that receive no official notification from anyone, are worn wrong, more than likely not laundered daily and loose fitting. A little kids use and not a few adults use them to blow their runny nose and keep wearing it.

Someone will explain why, if masks are so ineffective, we have seen one of the lightest flu seasons in decades with the fewest deaths in decades.

Someone will explain....

NOT Kavanaugh -

You are very astute and not a little intrepid.

Because of the shut down, not going to school, working from home. Also what was flu was diagnosed as Covid. Half a million people died of Covid, a more than likely manufactured germ warfare agent, precisely because there was no natural immunity.

"Someone will explain why, if masks are so ineffective, we have seen one of the lightest flu seasons in decades with the fewest deaths in decades."

I could change the question to:
"Someone will explain why, if masks are so effective, we have seen one of the heaviest coronavirus seasons in decades with the highest deaths in decades?"

There are several theories. One is that SARS-CoV-2 is much more contageous than influenza, and there is usually one dominant respiratory virus at any given time, forcing out its competitors.

Thank you Victor, I love science but despise it as a religion, a dogmatic one at that.

Apparently Q-Anon has taken over the Blog Owner....

An added benefit, for me, of wearing a mask is that men on the street, and at work too, no longer tell me to smile.

Also, by the way, according to my scales my face mask weighs about 7lbs!

God bless,

I’d never worn a mask before but now it’s becoming comfortable, like a warm blanket of stay the hell away from me.....and when I get in my car, now, it is the new taking off your bra when you get home!

Ummm....you are living in the past. Mr Trump is now gone, so you can talk about his "fringe conspiracy theories." Even Facebook now allows talk about lab origins of SARS-CoV-2, and even the NY Times had an OpEd a few days ago confirming the plausibility its lab origin in Wuhan. The lefties are now into it....get in with the times!
