If given a test where you must label each king of ancient Israel as good king or bad king, if you mark them all as a bad king, you will pass the test with flying colours.

Likewise of appointees by the Francis cabal. The only suprise being Lil Nas X did not get the job.

An excellent appointment - I’m resisting saying “I told you so”!

We will have 3 English Cardinals when Roche is elevated (and probably another after ++Vincent retires later this year / next year).
The English & Welsh Church is not hugely divided into traditional / progressive branches at one another’s throats unlike AmChurch - a good model to follow.

Lifesite as an op-ed about this new prefect, and it is not particularly optimistic for those who attend the TLM, and worse still is that Pope Francis is said to be planning to restrict the TLM:

I hope this is all wrong, because there will certainly be a formal schism if it is not.

UK - Priest,

Maybe because in the UK you do not have a bunch of liturgical leftists?

While there is much to worry about, I'm heartened by the fact that he was made secretary of CDW by Benedict XVI under Canizarez Llovera as prefect.

Dear UK Priest,

Can I ask you re your views on blessing same sex couples and women’s ordination to the priesthood?

Yours SINcerely,

UK Nun.

PF might try, motu proprio, to place new restrictions on the classic Roman Rite, but what would be the point? He can hardly argue that the Old Rite poses a threat to the New without conceding that the latter is in some way an inferior product. Nor can he overturn the principle that the Church does not and cannot arbitrarily suppress valid and orthodox rites.

All he would be doing would be expressing a personal and petulant dislike of the old Mass and those who celebrate and attend it. In which case he would simply be ignored, and rightly so.

John Nolan,

Nor can PF suppress the legitimate aspirations of the younger clergy. In my neck of the woods, we have 3 young pastors, diocesan priests, all in their early 30s, who celebrate the EF at least once a week. They are going to be around a lot longer than PF and his like minded bishops. It's their last gasp and they know it.
