ULTRA RIGHTWING FAKE NEWS--HOW CAN WE STOP IT?

I am scandalized by the fakenews of Church militant. Last week, without conscience, it reported that Cardinal Wuerl had fled to Rome to seek sanctuary before he would be arrested and thrown  into prison in Washington, DC. It was presented as fact. How many believed this lie, hook, line and sinker? Many, I presume.

There has yet to be a retraction or mea culpa!

Now there is another lie or fakenews item over there which cannot be corroborated in any verifiable way:

Italian Media have unearthed details of the much sought-after secret dossier compiled during the last months of Pope Benedict's pontificate, which names various names, uncovering the homosexual network operating within the Vatican and around the globe.

These revelations now threaten to shake the Francis papacy to its very foundations.

A priest friend of mine believed it to be real news because he read it on twitter!

I think dishonesty is a mortal sin and the corruption of Church Militant deserves, as with many sins, the fires of hell.

Bee here:

I honestly never look at Church Militant, or listen to the videos. To me, Michael Voris seems to use hyperbole as a reporting tool, and is often over the top. I don't find that kind of reporting helpful. It's hard to tell what's true when the reporting is so obviously biased.

If a story sounds like muck-racking I tend to disbelieve it. I don't believe this "secret dossier" story. I would wait until other more credible sources report it before I'd believe it.

God bless.

Suggestion: Don't click on to Church Militant because most of us don't

Looks like it was first reported by a newspaper in Italy, so stay tuned...

I looked st that paper and not there. If it were true it would be bigger than Viganò letter and widely reported.

Church Militant is not reliable, but the journal they are citing is, so it's hard to know what to think for sure.

The dossier itself is 100% real, it was compiled by three Cardinals under Benedict, and we know it exists. The question is whether it has actually leaked to the media. The Italian journal says they have it, but haven't released it, and that's all we know.

Isn't Voris some kind of post-sodomite? He was arguing for a geocentric universe a few years ago. I stick to EWTN, CNA and Lifesites for my Church and pro-life news.

I do not understand why you are claiming "ultra rightwing" are reporting fake news. Onepetrfive is now also reporting about this secret dosssier, as it had the story back on 4 Sept about bishop Farrel. They are just reporting what Il Fatto Quotidiano has published. Is Il Fatto Quotidiano reliable? From what I know about this independent paper, and it has some association with HuffPost, I would not dismiss its stories so fast.

Father McDonald said..."There has yet to be a retraction or mea culpa!"

Right-wing, "traditional" Catholic bloggers/twitter folks, at least the folks that I've encountered, have refused to apologize for the countless lies that they've spread about Pope Francis, as well as additional Churchmen.

1Peter5 may have reached the height of "traditional" Catholic arrogance in regard to the spreading of lies that right-wingers have concocted to defame His Holiness Pope Francis.

1Peter5 last year published the following lie: Source: Before Dismissal of Cardinal Müller, Pope Asked Five Pointed Questions

Greg Burke, Director of the Vatican Press office, declared as "totally false" the Pope Francis/Cardinal Müller meeting as described by 1Peter5.

Cardinal Müller rejected as false the 1Peter5 story in question.

Nevertheless, 1Peter5 refused to acknowledge that they had lied about said meeting.

Again, even Cardinal Müller rejected the story in question. But that did not stop 1Peter5, as well as additional "traditionalists," from having promoted the fake news story — the lie — in question.

Liars/haters populate the anti-Pope Francis, right-wing blogosphere.

Mr tHOMAS:
"Liars/haters populate..."
If Cardinal Kasper with his hatred for Africans is an example of the great Pope Francis team, how can you believe anyone from that team, including even Francis who seems to say one thing in private, but conveys the opposite in public, as Sandro Magister and other reliable reporters have documented?

As for your 1Peter5 story, it was stated there at the end that:
"Like Marco Tosatti, we have sought but may never be able to provide an explanation of the incident of the five questions from official channels. We can only say that our sources are not given to idle speculation. They are confident that the events transpired as they have been described."

After all, many at the Vatican are sworn to papal secrecy, so will they not even lie to protect the secrets? Indeed, did not the the pope's friend and close Cardinal Maradiaga just a few days ago say that Pope Francis’ alleged cover-up are “of a private order,” and a merely “administrative affair”? Can you trust anything coming out of this Vatican circle of secrecy?

MT, these right wing blogs you speak of, do they hate all popes, or just PF? Do you think there might be a reason for their hatred? From what I've seen, most of the blogs cannot be accused of being anti-VII, so maybe it's something else.

"Team Francis"

Were the following teams in place? Examples:

-- Team Saint Peter
-- Team Saint Pius X
-- Team Venerable Pius XII
-- Team Benedict XVI

Oh, well...I am on "Team Catholic." How can a Catholic not be on Team Francis?

Dan, do you recall the venom that Archbishop Lefebvre, as well as like-minded right-wingers, spewed at Popes Blessed Paul VI and Saint John Paul II?

The right-wing's vicious attacks are not limited to His Holiness Pope Francis. Right-wing, "traditional" Catholics have attacked many Popes.

MT,

If you were remotely attached to reality, you would know that the left-wing is full of hate and venom for the Church and its popes. If you identify with the left, you are pro-abortion and pro-gay marriage. They are a fundamental part of their articles of "Faith."

Father McDonald,

I leave this up to you to report this, but this may shake MT's faith in his Golden Calf:

There was a Team St. Peter. That is why St. Paul exhorts people not to be partisan in their allegiance to a particular person.

There was also a Team St. Pius X. He had a worldwide cadre of people spying on theologians to report modernist tendencies. Many people hated Pius X as a result of that tactic.

There was a team Benedict as well. His proponents continue to push him and his hermeneutic of continuity. This very blog is an example of Team Benedict at work.

Team Pius XII might be the sedevacantists who continue to promote the idea that he is the last pope. Although, I've noticed a recent trend to take umbrage with a lot of what Pius XII did since, with hindsight, it appears to be part of the problem.
