This past November, Rorate Caeli had promoted the same photo in question. The selective use of that photo is supposed to "prove" that Pope Francis hates the tiara, as well as all things Catholic.
Rorate Caeli used the photo to elicit hateful tweets about Pope Francis.
But Rorate Caeli, as well as additional "traditional" blogs, are not keen to display photos of Pope Francis having smiled when show the tiara.
Once again, certain "traditional" bloggers revealed their true colors. That is, they despise Pope Francis. They spread lies about Pope Francis. At every turn, they seek to defame and misrepresent Pope Francis.

From Google Images: Beautiful photographs of His Holiness Pope Francis.
I hate to be negative but, hoping for signs and wonders particularly with this pontificate has become exhausting. Without question, this tiara is truly beautiful, unfotunately, however, it probably has already made it's final journey to the museum never to be touched by a papal sacristan again.
This isn't Rorate Caeli, this is Southern Orders. Nothing is being 'proven' here. For His Holiness to not look pleased and grateful when being presented with a gift would have been the height of bad manners and form. Clearly, that isn't the case here as HH's demeanor is appropriate to the occasion. As for the Twitter photo link you provided, I see nothing more (unless you are looking to make something out of nothing) than HH concentrating on whatever explanation is being provided. His right hand wouldn't be touching the tiara if he were truly recoiling in disgust. That said, as HH generally eschews things traditional as well as the trappings of the Office of which he is a temporary occupant and steward, I wouldn't hold out much hope of ever seeing this tiara again outside of a visit to the museum/sacristy.
In this new year, may I suggest that we, collectively, channel our efforts into studying the gospel as opposed to the current occupant of the throne.
Oh how nice to show are traditional orthodox Catholic living Pope Francis. Oh he is a look orthofox and traditional. I love the commemorative stamp of Luther. Yes Luther who despised the Mass, Our Lady and the papacy.

I didn't make "something out of nothing" in regard to the photo. Rorate Caeli (as well as additional "traditional" bloggers) made something out of nothing.
Twice during the past two months, Rorate Caeli promoted the photo via Twitter...as well as promoted vile comments against Pope Francis that were generated by Rorate Caeli's use of the photo to defame Pope Francis.
Here are just a few of the vile comments in question that Rorate Caeli were keen to promote via the photo in question:
-- "Looks like he absolutly detests the papacy."
-- "Bergoglio, in denying Christ and His Truth, wants to cancel the Teaching and the Way traced for us by Jesus:"
-- "The false prophet hates all that represents the true pre Masonic pre vc2 mystical body of Christ" =============================================================================
Deo gratias for Father McDonald. Father published photos of Pope Francis smiling when shown the tiara...photos that certain "traditional" bloggers are not keen to promote.
ByzRC said..."In this new year, may I suggest that we, collectively, channel our efforts into studying the gospel as opposed to the current occupant of the throne."
I plan to study the Gospel, as well as read everything that I can each day that pertains to Pope Francis' declarations (and news about His Holiness).
Jesus Christ speaks through Pope Francis. That is why I am keen to turn to Pope Francis.
For decades, I have tried to obtain as much information as I could about each Pope who reigned during that time...as well as read about Popes from centuries past.
I am thrilled to hear daily from the Vicar of Christ.
I was speaking generally however, it clearly concerns you as well since you choose to post from a PR perspective.
Any public figure will have supporters and detractors. Why do the opinions of extremists concern you so greatly (this is rhetorical - no explanation required? They spew empty words, nothing rooted in fact or, spirituality. It's easy to shoot daggers however, it takes time to understand the gospels, the precepts of the church and to take a spiritual view. I don't like that HH eschews tradition but, there is nothing requiring him at this juncture to maintain it the way we would like either (e.g. the old ceremonial).
ByzRC said..."That said, as HH generally eschews things traditional..."
You mean such traditional things as Pope Francis' promotion of...etc...
No, Mark Thomas, that's not what I meant. I meant traditions such as those portrayed in this particular piece. I'm not going to comment further as, having to comment this much is absurd.
By what set of criterion were you able to conclude, "Hardly"? Perhaps you would like to reconsider your assessment after reviewing the attached? It would appear that the quality of materials used as well as the craftsmanship employed were appropriate for the object that was produced.
So it is covered with pearls and made by Orthodox nuns. It still looks amateurish to me.
The poverty rate in Macedonia is over 20% as is the unemployment rate. The corruption of the government is causing continual degradation of the people of that nation.
But OH, YES, let's send a tiara to the pope so it can be placed in a museum and never worn.
In 1991 The Socialist Republic of Macedonia ceased to exist. It is now a capitalist, free-market economy.
"Successful privatization in 2000 boosted the country's reserves to over $700 million. Also, the leadership demonstrated a [14] continuing commitment to economic reform, free trade, and regional integration. The economy can meet its basic food needs but depends on outside sources for all of its oil and gas and most of its modern machinery and parts. Inflation jumped to 11% in 2000, largely due to higher oil prices."
And Venezuela, another socialist paradise adored by lefties like you, is still a disaster. Socialism has impoverished (and killed) more people, in contrast to Capitalism, which still holds the record for lifting more of the poor out of poverty.
Regarding my reply, you should have detected sarcasm. It was easier to just apologize than try to continue analyzing the artistic/craftsmanship merits of a tiara to the socio-political situation of a socialist country.

It is truly a beautiful tiara. Santita should try it on for size!!
Father McDonald, you have reproduced the photographs (the first two photos) that certain "traditional" bloggers are not keen to promote.
A couple of days ago, Rorate Caeli, via Twitter, displayed the following photo of "disgusted" Pope Francis when shown the tiara:

You mean such traditional things as Pope Francis' promotion of...
-- Confession.
-- Indulgences.
-- Keeping Sunday Holy.
-- The Holy Rosary.
-- Devotions to Saints.
-- Catholic Social Teaching.
-- Latin.
-- Gregorian Chant.

Hardly. It looks like A 4th grader's macaroni and glue art project.

Macedonia, Venezuela, etc., all socialist paradises!

I'm sorry. Of course, you're right. Forgive me.
Macedonia is not a socialist economy.
In 1991 The Socialist Republic of Macedonia ceased to exist. It is now a capitalist, free-market economy.
"Successful privatization in 2000 boosted the country's reserves to over $700 million. ByrRC - Nothing to forgive. You like the tiara, I don't. It's just a matter of taste.
The economic realities of Macedonia, however, are not matters of opinion.
