When I first saw this I couldn’t believe it. Cardinal Krejeski acting like a real clown at a real circus in Rome. I call it Circus Maximus.
Then I thought back to the early 1980’s at one of our clergy conferences when Bishop Lessard lamented that the “majesty” of the priesthood was being diminished by clownish things priests were doing at the liturgy and elsewhere.
Well this clown prince did not expect this. Neither did I! Does the pope criticize a prince of the Catholic Church doing something really, really dumb for a prince to do given the majesty of his office?
NO! ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST CRITICIZE THE CLOWN PRINCE FOR DENIGRATING THE DIGNITY OF ELEPHANTS! YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS STUFF UP!
I was going to vote for Cardinal Krejeski for pope at the conclave, but now the clown prince as lost my vote!

You can’t win for losing.
It does seem that Pope Francis is prone to lurch from one blunder to another unprepared for the fallout. His staff doesn’t seem to prepare him for the situation and think things through past the photo op. Poor man must be frustrated.
