NOW CARDINAL TOBIN STEPS IN TO CORRECT HETERODOX CARDINAL MCELROY AND TRIES TO EXPLAIN WHY THE SYNOD ON SYNODALITY, AS WELL AS THE SYNODAL CHURCH, WILL BE A CONSTANT UMBILICUS GAZING, WALKIING TOGETHER FOR AN ELITE NUMBER OF PEOPLE TO MEETINGS AND UMBILICUS GAZING IN A CLOSED CIRCLE OF A SMALL NUMBER OF ELITISTS WHO LIKE TO WALK TO MEETINGS AND TALK!

Blind guides walking together with the blindfolded

Umbilicus gazing—without blindfolds as we walk together with blind guides and uncovered manholes before them:

The first person who can tell me what “umbilicus gazing” means, can read this post without going through a paywall! This definition should also explain its colloquial meaning.

When Pope Benedict complained that many celebrations of the Modern Roman Missal were/are too horizontal, I wasn’t exactly sure what that meant, other than it is umbilicus gazing with a focus on me and us and what we and I are to do with God set aside to the periphery. Worse yet, we become gods. Thus it is that old canard of making false gods out of Vatican II, synods, walking together and the heresy of Vatican II that we can accomplish all things by holding hands once we get to any kind of meeting and singing Kumbaya!

The two heterodox cardinals in Rome in charge of this synod on synodality and the Church of the synodal way have said as much, but they didn’t realize it. They say, and I loosely quote, that the synod on synod is just about how we walk together, how we are Church. It’s about us. It’s ecclesial narcissism on steroids.

They did not say this is the way the Church walks with the Lord to our final destination, the pilgrimage to heaven. Pilgrimage is the Catholic term for what Protestants, usually Pentecostals, call “walking!” I suspect “walking” was chosen by Protestants because pilgrimage was too Catholic a term. Now we have abandoned pilgrimage for Protestant walking. It’s the Protestantization of the Catholic Church, a sort of hostile take-over but from within, unless these cardinals are Protestant secret agents.

In a feeble attempt at damage control caused by the heterodox Cardinal McElroy, recently picked by Pope Francis who knows well that McElroy is heterodox, Cardinal Tobin of Newark, progressive, but evidently not heterodox, says this to Crux:

“There are certainly voices that would suggest the need to change Catholic doctrine, but I don’t think that’s what the Holy Father has in mind in this whole process,” said Cardinal Joseph Tobin of Newark in an interview with Crux. “It’s much more about how we walk together.”

My final comments: Cardinal Tobin is as befuddled as anyone else is about the incoherence of Pope Francis’ catastrophic papacy. Or he knows what’s going on, but doesn’t want to let the cat out of the bag before it is completed like Cardinal McElroy who indelicately did. Tobin says, “I don’t think the Holy Father wants to change doctrine with the synodal process”. In other words, Cardinal Tobin diplomatically makes a wild opinion against reason when he says basically, I don’t know what the hell Pope Francis is thinking or doing with this damn synodal process; we’ll have to wait and see when he actually changes the moral and doctrinal teachings of the Church, blames the Holy Spirit of surprises for it and we continue to walk together to other meetings, where we blame God for the mess we are making of the Spotless Bride of Christ!

And how much does all this “walking” together cost monetarily in terms of less than 1% of Catholics and non Catholics walking to these meetings, so paid personnel in the Church, Vatican careerists and others, can feel they are earning their wage and their lovely digs in the Holy City of Rome. That’s the other scandal in a scandal in terms of how money is wasted in the Vatican and stolen.

Losers who are trying to deflect their losing policies hire consultants - it is that simple. They fo not know how to “teach, preach and sanctify.”
