Pope Francis’ health will continue to decline. It happens to us all, especially if we are blessed to become an Octogenarian.
We all know too, that when an elderly person suffers some kind of physical trauma, like a fall or major surgery, it begins the snow ball rolling to its conclusion.
Pray for Pope Francis and pray for Divine Intervention to bring an end to the synod on synods:
From Silere non possum (Pope Francis admits his health continues to decline after surgery):
Receiving the Plenary Assembly of the Reunion of Aid Organizations for the Oriental Churches (ROACO), this morning Pope Francis chose not to read the prepared speech and confessed to those present:
"I am still under the effect of anesthesia, the breath is not good”.
The statement left those present astonished especially following the declarations of Dr. Sergio Alfieri, announced with great commitment by the "Vatican media" and by faithful servants such as Andrea Tornielli.
Alfieri had categorically denied: "The Pope has never had problems with anesthesia". The denial, however, was made to the Pope himself who repeatedly said that in the first operation he underwent at the Gemelli he had problems with anesthesia. Today, Francis reiterates that there are problems with anesthesia because it is not normal that 6 days after his resignation and 14 days after the operation, the Pope still has "the effect of anesthesia".
In the Vatican there are already those who make fun of Salvatore Cernuzio, Tornielli's pupil, who headlined: "The surgeon Alfieri: 'The Pope will now be able to do everything, stronger and better than before'". Even when this interview with Sergio Alfieri came out, everyone criticized this excessive servility and a cardinal underlined that: "We all hope that the Pope will recover, of course there are those who have a different vision of the Church and do not like this modus agendi but nobody wishes the death to the Pope. We are not joking. However, it is a question of serving the Truth and therefore such a thing cannot be affirmed, especially by a man who has taken the Hippocratic oath. It is still an 86-year-old man who has demonstrated that he has various health problems, like all of us ”.
Once again, therefore, the management of the Vatican media is leaking from all sides and Francis, albeit against his will, offers details on his health condition which shed light on his real conditions. In the Vatican there is much anticipation for July 5, 2023 when Paolo Ruffini will finish his five-year mandate and, like everyone else, will have to pack his bags. On 18 December, then, it will be the turn of Andrea Tornielli from Chioggia, for whom someone is already talking about "one-way tickets".
