BOMBSHELL! ARLINGTON DIOCESE TO RADICALLY RENOVATE THIER CATHEDRAL AND ADD AN ALTAR RAILING! YES, YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY! BOMBSHELL ALTAR RAILING TO BE ADDED TO ARLINGTON’S CATHEDRAL!
NOW AND PROPOSED AFTER, PLEASE NOTE THE BOMBSHELL ALTAR RAILING:
also good to see that at least they screened off the choir, awfully distracting from the mass. We have a church here that was built right after v2, organist and choir is directly behind the altar, awfully distracting especially when someone drops a sour note! A choir should be heard not seen!
Interesting to see this done in this era. I agree with The Egyptian that the choirs are often distracting and perhaps by nature contribute to the horizontal nature of the modern Mass. They should be choral-ed out of sight in the mezzanine.
While I never cared for this practice, laity assuming orans posture during the recitation of the Our Father, however, this does create balkanization.....you can do it here, cross the state line you can't.
In my little country parish where Latin and tradition have been re-introduced over the last several years, less and less people are praying in the Orans position (mainly old folks) and we have less host grabbers!

Unrelated, but, perhaps a bombshell of its own.
