Incompetence is a term which we use when the Real Problem lies elsewhere. Incompetence suggests good will but what we have here is a plan doggedly executed to destroy the faith of millions.
I thought you would find this interesting. In the Archdiocese of Chicago only 4 transitional deacons were ordained, one of the four is from St. John Cantius, so 25% of the class is a deacon who will celebrate the TLM upon ordination. Only 5 priests were ordained. I think the Holy Spirit is trying to tell the Church something!
I also learned that the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska which was once headed by Bishop Bruskewitz (a nasty old, conservative) has 31% more priests there today than they had in 1990. Why didn't the USCCB consult with him as to how he did what his brother bishops could not do?
I don’t remember the diocese but they were having one of their monthly meetings - sort of a “state of the diocese” thingy. Several folks were there with the bishop, vicar general, a few religious and laymen. Also there was a retired bishop emeritus of that diocese.
The subject of vocations to the priesthood came up (or the lack of) and the bishop emeritus suggested copying what Bp. Bruskewitz was doing because of their success in vocations. He said that the diocese should send one of their priests out to speak with Lincoln’s vocation director.
It is said the room got very quiet real quick. The silence went on for a few awkward minutes then someone cleared their throat and the meeting moved on to other “issues.”
You see, TJM? Quite a few… well, modernists do not want vocations to the priesthood. Especially in the model of the “rigid” Bp. Bruskewitz and his. “Orthodoxy.” Nope! Can’t have that. 🤨
If I read the article correctly, the issue is not just theology or doctrine, but operations. The answer is simple, competitively hire more international companies to run critical functions in an ethical way. The issue is twofold: do these functions remain the private hunting preserve of Italian companies and personnel and secondly, do we allow the small town source selection process of the Vatican to continue?
As I have said numerous times here in comments, this is not incompetence. This is deliberate and very calculated. Our church is in grave danger with this Pope and his ilk. I'm simply biding my time, praying that the Holy Spirit will correct this disaster of a Papacy, convert the corrupt, give courage to the overwhelming majority of Priests and Bishops who are scared to say anything, and bring about an end to the schism that is taking Holy Mother Church down.

That’s an “inspiring” bunch. Time for this pontificate to end.

True story, TJM:

All article content aside, the photo is a perfect summation of why I find our modern world to be such a sad place.

Bingo! It is hard to accept the braindead, colorless and faithless! But Father K Orwell adores them!
