At 11:00 am on that day, it was already about 100 degrees in downtown Savannah with very high humidity. As I type this on Hilton Head Island, it is only 72 degrees and low humidity. We’ve had an extremely cool May and thus far, June.
I was ordained along with Fathers John Lyons and Thomas Campbell. Fr. Campbell was an older man at the time and died several years ago. Requiescat in Pace!
This are out of order because the dang Blogspot does not placed them in the order that I input them! Why? Oh, Why, oh, Lord?

Congrats! Is that Richard Keil helping you vest?
Yes. I think he is still alive in Macon.
Congratulations and thank you! Contemplating the life of a priest is very humbling.
Per Multos Annos!
Cute “stash!”

May God grant to the priest Allan peace, health and happiness for many blessed years!
Ad multos annos!
Sophia says; Congratulations Dear Father! What a gift to Holy Mother Church in general, and the Diocese of Savannah (and now Charleston) in particular, your "yes" to your call has been! Thank you so much for so faithfully and valiantly living out the vow you made so many years ago to shepherd the lambs and sheep entrusted to your care! May God continue to give you the health and strength you need for your mission!
Congratulations and thank you Father McDonald for answering the call to be a priest. Hope you have many more years serving in the Savannah and Charleston dioceses.
Love the side "chops".
Kind of liked that vibe back then.
